The Choose Your Own Adventure Challenge revolves around a story I wrote myself in which you make choices which determine the outcome of the story.
Written in a 1st person perspective and in present tense, you are the protagonist of the story and every choice you make happens in real time as you read through each chapter.
The synopsis for the story is as follows:

Nothing new or unusual ever seems to happen in the town of Fallow. It’s the kind of town where everyone knows everyone and everything is always the same. Then new kid Colm Dougherty arrives, shattering this facade, and suddenly nothing is as it seems. What would you do if you found out that all the people that you knew weren’t real? Would you join the Rebellion and fight for what's right, or is the only way to save humanity to save yourself?
With twists and turns at every corner are you sure you can trust anyone at all?

I’m on chapter A. I chose option 2, I read Ninth House. It fulfils task b because it has protagonist joining a secret society.
