This thread is to mark your completion of the August challenge for the prompt: a book involving a book club. You can join the group read of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, or read a book of your choice.

Author: Grady Hendrix

Would you recommend this book?
No! I would not have finished this book if not for this challenge. The author is a good writer though. I don't think I could have got so mad if the world building and characters did not feel real. The first half was so griping but then the main character kept making choices that were just so wrong leaving me mad. Also I needed more vampire content considering the title.

Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club?
Just a couple on goodreads.

Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book?
No, the women in the book club read only true crime which is not my preferred genre. Also the 80s/90s white suburbia racism and sexism were always impossible to ignore and thus think well of the characters.

I had a hard time with this category, and I still feel like I should read a "better" book for it. I DNF'ed my first choice (The Bromance Book Club) and the book club did not feature prominently in the plot of my second choice.

Title: Never Have I Ever
Author: Joshilyn Jackson
Would you recommend this book? Yes, it was okay, if you're looking for a quick, light, sort-of-thriller-type book.
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? I used to be, years ago (and that's how I first learned about GoodReads!) but it became difficult to make time for it, and I didn't like the books the group was picking any longer, and they decided to move the meetings from a downtown bar to ... somewhere else (I don't even know where they ended up). Then I tried to start my own book club, but we didn't have enough discipline or something, and then 1/3 of the members moved away, so that fell apart.
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book?
not at all! I wouldn't want to know any of the women in this book, and they barely talked about the books, they spent more time backstabbing than reading.

Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Nope.
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? I'm not eligible to join this book club. ;)

Would you recommend this book? Yes, I loved it
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? My real life bookclub has been on hold for several months, and COVID isn't making it likely to start up again anytime soon. I miss my ladies.
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? Not so much, since it includes someone being ill/dying. But I would love the conversations about books that they had. It is a much more fun book than I expected.

Would you recommend this book? No
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Yes, currently I am a member of two book clubs.
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? I don't think so. I like variety and don't think I would want to read books by only one author. In addition, I don't think I would like the members of this book club very much.

Would you recommend this book? Not really. I found it depressing. Maybe if you don't have older, semi-sickly parents, one with leukemia, it wouldn't be so bad.
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Not unless we count the Pop Sugar Face Book bage
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? Since it involves a terminally patient parent, absolutely, positively, 100% not.

Would you recommend this book? Yea, I actually enjoyed it.
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Nope
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? I would enjoy the books they read, not too sure how I would get along with the other women in this club though.

Would you recommend this book? Yes, 4 Stars
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Yes, a bunch on GR, no in person ones, but I would love to be.
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? No, there's no way I would want to hunt a prospective book club. I would've totally believed Patricia though, and smacked all of those dumb husbands in the head.

Would you recommend this book? Yes! I loved it.

Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Yes, several virtual book clubs. I have never been part of a real-life book club, would love to be a part of one.

Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? Oh yes! The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society sounds like a very interesting bunch of people. I would love to join them and get to know them and read with them.

Would you recommend this book? Sure

Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Virtual - on goodreads and facebook groups

Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? No, considering its for men who are struggling with their relationships. I wish the bookclub was more prominent. I've already started book two so hopefully I see more there.

Would you recommend this book? Ugh, no! It was awful. The movie is charming and I’ve seen it many times, but in the book, I hated every single character.
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Yes, I’m in Life’s Library and I also have a 2 person book club with a friend to practice her English.
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? No way!

Would you recommend this book? YES!! I really enjoyed it.

Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Not an actual book club, but I do a lot of buddy reads with my BFF. Can 2 people be a book club?

Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? Absolutely! The characters are so engaging and unique, and you learn so much about their personalities from the books they read and their responses. Yes, open the portal and let me in lol.

Would you recommend this book? If you like YA, yes.
Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Virtual, if you count GR.
Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? Probably.

Would you recommend this book? Nope. Cool-sounding paranormal thriller, but the writing was clunky, the characters were boring, and the plot twists fell flat.

Are you a member of a real life (or virtual) book club? Only if you count this group. My friends and I used to do group reads of visual novels, but we haven't done that for a while now.

Would you enjoy being part of the book club in this book? Nope! I probably wouldn't be allowed in anyway. (view spoiler)
