Why doesn't Piper want to tell anyone about what is happening to her Dad.

It’s a common element you’ll find in all of Rick’s books. Characters have some big secret that they don’t reveal til the end for plot reasons. Things would go much smoother for our demigods if they would communicate properly with one another but seeing as they’re all teenagers it’ll never happen.
