There's a lot of people who will read LotR for the trilogy. You'll have interesting discussions if you're all discovering it!
Fried Green Tomatoes seems to have a lot of love in this group, I need to look at it.
I'll read Big Little Lies the same week as you :)

I loved the movies and have had the LOTR on my "to-read" list for some time...figured it's as good a time as any!
Fried Green Tomatoes is MY favorite movie and I actually never knew it was a book first!

Have a box of tissues ready...you wouldn't think tomatoes would be sad...but they are!
If the story is sad, I'll probably cry with the movie, not the book. There's some tissues somewhere :p
I'm currently reading (not in the challenge) Lock in, your week #37. I'm just at 25% but it's really well written, I'll see later but the book is on its way for a 5 stars review. You have to read Unlocked: An Oral History of Haden's Syndrome before reading Lock in. It's free (link in the 1st review), "short" and totally needed to understand the story, so don't miss it ;) (and it's a great way to taste the writing and the universe ^^).

Oh awesome thank you for that! I'll check that out and really happy to hear that Lock In is (so far) 5-star worthy! I've never read that author before so it's definitely new to me.
I'd never read this author before. Lock in and the prequel were the month books of a group I follow, so as the prequel was free, I decided to give it a try. And magic happened :p
Lock in is a dystopian thriller which is unusual (dystopias are often survival books), with the "humans use artificial bodies". I really enjoyed The Surrogates (graphic novel) which has these same features, so it could be a side read for you, before Lock in to discover this type of story or after if you like it :)

I've actually never read a graphic novel so maybe that will be a good pick for that week in the challenge! ;)
Sybil and Rosemary's Baby are both great books. Rosemary's Baby is very subtle in the horror and the writing is pretty basic but it's strangely captivating.
I finished Lock In and totally enjoyed it. It's like a good detective movie! I gave it 5 stars because I can't say something against the book, I liked all of it. Everybody hasn't same tastes as me on reading, so it's probably more a 3-4 stars book, you'll tell me that ;)

Also finished 14, my week five pick and was not a big fan of that book. But I didn't realize there was a first book in the series so I figured I'd give the series another shot by reading book one.
Oh wow. I've been wanting to start the Outlander series and figured I would read it for my final book in the challenge, allowing me to read them closer together and without the time pressure. I had NO idea that they're that long though (!)

Oh yeah! Each book is well over 800 pages! Voyager was the longest by far and they're sometimes really tough to get through. SO MUCH DETAIL! But still a good series

I am also considering reading the Lord of the Rings Trilogy for the trilogy weeks, it has been far too long :)

I'm embarrassed to say I've never actually read the trilogy but they've been on my list for a really long time! I really loved the movies and I've been told that the books are even better.

I actually didn't really like it at first. Mo Hayder is one of my favorite authors and I came down hard at first on the book. Hired thugs I don't find all that scary and I expected more from Ms. Hayder. BUT it turned around and it was AWESOME!
And poor Jack Caffrey...
