Bailey Macdonald | 1 comments Always supported the support of black people. I often read books about their rights, their life in different countries. Since I am studying in college, I try to use the site , which helps to write various papers, in order to spend more time reading books about black people. With the help of this site, I recently found free samples of an essay on the topic of black lives matter. Many interesting discussions on this topic. Many different opinions about the life of black people and their lives I read in different books.

K (katetakate) Thanks for posting this - many great books listed above and in there links.

I have previously shared a list of race + feminism authors a couple months ago in response to another poster seeing book suggestions in this group - I can’t recall which thread it is...but this is the gist :).

I am currently reading:
Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption and Mother Country: Real Stories of the Windrush Children and So You Want to Talk About Race

I just finished: Dear Martin and Hello Mum which are heartbreaking, insightful and so powerful!
Hood Feminism: Notes from the Women That a Movement Forgot (which is so insightful - still processing my thoughts).

A few feminism + race relations books I have read and highly recommend (in no order of preference):

When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir

The Bluest Eye

Brit(ish): On Race, Identity and Belonging

Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire

Thick: And Other Essays

Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race (Our Shared Shelf book pick)

The Hate U Give (Our Shared Shelf book pick) and On the Come Up

The Black Flamingo

Girl, Woman, Other

Sing, Unburied, Sing

A Place for Us

The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl

No One Can Pronounce My Name

Queenie

Beloved

And here’s a few others I plan to read in the near future:
In Black and White: A Young Barrister's Story of Race and Class in a Broken Justice System

Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

Whiter: Asian American Women on Skin Color and Colorism

It's Not About the Burqa

Dear Justyce

Concrete Rose
