We love a good team challenge, and, in continuing the theme of game shows, we will be playing

WHEEL. OF. FORTUNE!

In this game, you and your teammates will be tasked with a blank Wheel of Fortune board containing the title of a book/books. You will track your pages read, audio listened to, and books completed in order to earn guesses.

For example:

Category is "Found in the Kitchen":

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

For each 2000 pages read, or 5 audio hours listened, or 1 book complete, your team will earn one letter guess. Letters cannot be vowels (no A, E, I, O, or U). After 5 letter guesses, you can try to complete the title!

(The answer is The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake!)

You will be given a spreadsheet to track your reading adventures and see your progress on the game board.

Edie | 1131 comments Away from my computer and not able to see the prompts or the team page. I will be reading, but it will be Sunday night before I can post what I am doing .

Hey Edie! You're in luck. The team challenge won't have prompts this time around... so just keep track of how many pages you've read and update them when you can!

Perri | 886 comments It seems lots of people playing, so fun!

Where do we actually post our guesses for the letters and eventually for the titles? Will the mods be checking all the different family threads or is there another thread for guesses?

message 12: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 10942 comments Mod
Robin, that is a great idea. I'm going to make a thread to post your guesses to make it easier. Thanks!

message 13: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 1490 comments Sorry if this was asked in another thread, but how should we count page numbers in an e-book? Since this can depend based on device, app, font size, etc?

message 14: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 10942 comments Mod
Whatever page count your e-reader goes by!

Devin wrote: "Sorry if I'm just not seeing where this is listed. Is there a minimum page count for a book to count?"

100 pages for normal books, 200 for graphic novels.

message 16: by Chrissy (new)

Chrissy | 1132 comments Does the light green color mean something in our wheel of fortune board?

message 17: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 10942 comments Mod
That is the word that overlaps between the two titles!

So for the example: A House in the Sky/Sky in the Deep, the word SKY would be in the light green.

message 18: by Chrissy (new)

Chrissy | 1132 comments Cool, one other question- I figured out out puzzle, but should I wait till the rest of the team checks in?

message 19: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 10942 comments Mod
You must complete 5 guesses before you can guess the puzzle! Because I gave you all a vowel, I'll let that count for one of the guesses, so this round, you will need to complete 4 guesses in order to guess the final puzzle.

message 20: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I finished a book that I had begun before the challenge started. It will not qualify as a book read, since I only had 78 pages left--BUT, am I allowed to count the 78 pages in my pages read?

message 21: by Trish, Annular Mod (new)

Trish (trishhartuk) | 1093 comments Mod
Sorry, I have another question. Are the titles going to be using US or UK spelling? For example center/centre or single versus double-Ls.

message 22: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 10942 comments Mod
Yes, Sara, you are allowed to count pages read, just not book completed.

We are using US spelling for books (really, whatever the default spelling is on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, but I think all of the ones I've used have the US title).

message 23: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Thank you, Emily!
