Thanks Mayim <3 I am interested in getting those monthly lists going again. The obstacle has been that most people are using the book clubs which don't get set up through the channels that allows us to populate everything (I'm working to integrate those better). As of the last month, I haven't set up more than two or three new buddy reads scheduled for more than a week out, so there's not a lot on the docket other than what Margaret already has in the master to report. I'm hoping once things settle and we get back in to a routine, we can get back into a good book planning routine as well and have those lists ready to go. :)

From my side, it is more of the missing out syndrome. I rarely initiate buddy reads, but I am happy to join. Without the official "what is going on" I have no idea what books and series are planned and I have noticed that in the last months I have been doing more and more individual reads as a result.

Oh shoot lol. Hopefully we can avoid that thread communication error going forward.
If we get things going again where we plan out more than just a handful, I'll look towards getting that "what's happening" thread going again. Because most of the reads are last minute these days, I'm hoping to try to get everyone in the habit of checking the bookshelf for stuff to join. In some ways I like it better than the master list because you can sort by start date and see the covers. We've been very inconsistent in adding to the bookshelf in the past, but that's one thing I can assure will be as up to date as possible going forward. It's also easier to update than the original master thread because only the creator can alter those. We'll see how it goes...

Hi Mayim.
As you know life has taken a turn for a lot of us, and I have had a hard time finding the energy to put the work in here. I try when I can, but my computer at home isn't great to be honest, and when I am at work I am often busy (healthcare staff) and need to do FBR stuff on my break. I am back from vacation now, and hoping to get back into the swing of things. I'm terribly sorry

Perfect - I added this to the initial comment. Thanks Rob!

The to-read bookshelf link above has now been updated to show ONLY the upcoming books we've scheduled. I've added it into my routine to keep that current. Hopefully it will provide that "at a glance" element to our group that I know a lot of you have missed!

Hey, Zaara :)
Could you put the info for the buddy read into this doc? Then we can configure all the upcoming reads.

EDIT: I deleted my earlier comment to keep the thread uncluttered.

No problem :) thanks for checking! ^^

No problem :) thanks for checking! ^^

But I like how things are much sleeker and less overwhelming now

Thanks in advance!

It probably just got overlooked as there are so many reads going on. :)
Yanique usually sends a list of the BRs happening in the current month over at the BR planning thread:
/topic/show/...
Then you can use the "Search Discussion Posts" within the group (right side menu) if you can't find what you're looking for.
Hope that helps!

If you check the Upcoming BR thread it is accurate within about a week, since I update these folders about once a week. If you see things from January then it's January 2024 (we already have lots of reads scheduled for next year!).

Looking at the "Current Buddy Reads" folder will give you a good idea on what the group is reading now. Even better, check out the "Upcoming Buddy Reads" folder and put your name down for the awesome series we're starting soon! Some of our current reads are happening in the Book Clubs Folder
Don't see one you want to join? Suggest one in the Buddy Read Invite thread.
And, of course, please let us know if you have any questions! :)
