My first time doing this challenge. I've decided to read Stories on the Go: 101 Very Short Stories by 101 Authors between 1 and 31 December. (101 doesn't divide into 31 so for eight days I will be reading 4 short stories a day and then for the rest of the month 3 short stories a day). I will do weekly updates.31/31 days

I'm going to do this with JRR Tolkien's Letters from Father Christmas24/24 - I'm done. What a great challenge.
B) Starting on Dec. 1: Split a novel into 24 chunks and portion your reading so that you read the last chunk on Dec. 24. (Ideally the novel has 24 chapters to start with! But as long as you can manage to count out fairly even-sized chunks, it'll work.)As I am not doing the short stories, I am adding another book .
The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. It has 54 chapters , so I will read 2 chapters each day finishing on Dec 27
I will be reading Under the Dome by Stephen King . It has 26 chapters and 1,074 pages , Instead of reading partial pages, I will do this challenge over 26 days, finishing on Dec. 26 .

I love this idea! I'm going for challenge B : I plan to read a novel by Lars Mytting, The Sixteen Trees of the Somme. I'm reading a French edition that has 556 pages. It amounts to 18 pages a day. Very doable!Edit : 18 pages a day = I've split this huge novel in 31 days of reading.

Many countries around the world use advent calendars or Christmas calendars to celebrate the month of December. For some people, the calendar has religious significance, but for others it's a secular, non-religious tradition.
For this challenge, there are two options:
A) Starting on Dec. 1 and ending on Dec. 24, read a short story (or a poem!) every day. Use stories or poems from collections, magazines, or the internet - there's lot of good short fiction available for free from many publishers.

Woo-hee! I was a bit slow on getting the full participant list up and putting my jolly hat on, sorry! Despite all my feelgood-intentions, I seem to have been caught in a Joe Hill short story collection, which perhaps my brain decided was festive because of his novel NOS4A2. :)

However, I did start Our Women on the Ground: Essays by Arab Women Reporting from the Arab World on December 1st and read one essay every few days. To be finished by the end of December for several challenges.

Many countries around the world use advent calendars or Christmas calendars to celebrate the month of December. For some people, the calendar has religious significance, but for others it's a secular, non-religious tradition.
For this challenge, there are two options:
A) Starting on Dec. 1 and ending on Dec. 24, read a short story (or a poem!) every day. Use stories or poems from collections, magazines, or the internet - there's lot of good short fiction available for free from many publishers.
