Joi (missjoious) | 3969 comments Kristin Chenoweth has always been my actress. I discovered her in middle school, during the Wicked frenzy, joined her online fan club (met friends but online, and later on in real life who are now still real friends), and here we are over 15 years later, and I'm still obsessed. I watch all her shows, movies, listen to her music- and have followed her personal life off and on, though now instagram makes that much easier.

This was a reread for me, although it had been a few years. I was scheduled to see Kristin in concert for the first time ever in March. This got postponed to October. Now, our ticket money is in "limbo" due to COVID. My consolation prize is the Food Network show 'Candyland', which she is hosting. I figured it was time for a reread of her memoir (which chronicles up until 2010ish).

Pretty par for the course content wise for a celebrity memoir. Kristin was adopted into a Christian Oklahoma family. We see her upbringing, her parents, her singing career, her pageant career, how she got into Broadway and into show biz. Kristin has such a BIG FUN personality, and it reads with her writing. You feel her Southern Hospitality in the way she speaks and writes.

Now off to go listen to her Christmas album 'A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas', to which I drove my college freshman year roommate insane with it on replay 12 years ago.
