If you survived our December Odd Apocalypse and are ready for something Deeply Odd, here is the new 2020-2021 discussion thread.

Open your book and meet your Deeply Odd Friends: Alfred Hitchcock, A Rhinestone Cowboy, Annamaria and Mrs. Fischer.

I've been walkin' these streets so long
Singin' the same old song
I know every crack in these dirty sidewalks of Broadway
Where hustle's the name of the game
And nice guys get washed away like the snow and the rain
There's been a load of compromisin'
On the road to my horizon
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me
Like a rhinestone cowboy
Riding out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo
Like a rhinestone cowboy
Getting cards and letters from people I don't even know
And offers comin' over the phone . . .

- Glen Cambpell, Rhinestone Cowboy

Happy New Year! Has anyone started ready Deeply Odd?
One thing's for sure 2021 is an Odd year and that's a good thing!
Happy Reading Koontzlanders!

Lori Wendt (loriwendt90) | 4 comments Have really been enjoying this challenge and rereading the Odd Thomas series again.

Matthew | 183 comments I completed Deeply Odd this morning. I believe this is my second time completely through the book and enjoyed it more. Odd is allowed to wax philosophically in this book even more so than others but, whereas that can irk me, the asides seemed to fit the story better than in, say, Odd Apocalypse.

I'm still re-reading Deeply Odd. This is my third reading.

Susan Beamon (susanbeamon) | 71 comments I finished it. Not bad. It was my first time through the book. I find again the danger to children that shows up in many of Dean's books. The evil is very well organized. The good seems to be more of a network than an organization. I'll be starting Saint Odd very soon.

I'm actually enjoying Deeply Odd this time around more than I did the first two times. It's always interesting how time and events change perspective and what I pick up on re-reading.

There are plenty of "Easter eggs" for Koontz fans in Deeply Odd.
In chapters 10-11, not only is Twilight Eyes mentioned in the story, but Dean's newest novel, Elsewhere, is referenced seven years before being published. Very curious.
