The Tracking Shelf (2021)

If you change your mind about a book, just remove it from the shelf and the tracker will update.
Hope that helps :)

When you go to *My Books* it will show and can be edited as any other list.
I don't think you can assign books to specific prompts on it (or did I miss that?).
Just one more voice to say: yes, it's just a regular Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ shelf. You can name your shelf "Betty" or "this stupid challenge" and then so long as you type that exactly in the box, it will work. The little widget will just count books you've finished on that shelf, it won't be able to track which category they are for.
And this is completely optional! I dont' find it helpful, so I don't do it, even though I'm the one who set it up!
No one is tracking how many books you've read except you.

Shelves are tags within Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ to categorize books. You can read more about them using the link below. Books may fall into multiple shelves. For example I have some books marked as owned, hardcopy, 2021 Popsugar reading challenge to designate physical books that I own versus eBooks (Kindle or Scribd) that I am reading for the challenge. You can add or remove books from a shelf at any time simply by checking or unchecking the box. Hope this helps!

If I'm not wrong, they're lists, not shelves, meaning they're there to help people select books to fit the category. So even if you add a book and choose not to read it someone else might want to and see it there as an option :)
Sorry if I've completely misunderstood what you're asking.

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know. If you're sure you typed the shelf name correctly in the widget, and the books on your shelf are marked as Read within the time period, and they still aren't registering, then it might be a GR glitch. Lately I feel I've been seeing a lot of people posting that their tracked Challenge numbers are wrong. It's not listed as a known issue for January 2021 however. You can contact GR support and ask them - they are always very nice! (But they make it hard to find the email address to contact them - go to your Profile > Help > and poke around a bit until you find the Contact Us link. You have to click on FAQ or something first - I guess that's how they weed out easily answered questions.)

Did you type in the dash? The dash between words is added automatically when you create a shelf but for the challenge tracker to recognize the shelf, you have to type the dash.

Can someone please say some more about the 'Track Your Progress in the 2020 PopSugar Reading Challenge' works?
It seems this shelf is a different kind of shelf than the ones we can create within our own profile/list of books?
And, it seems the intent (or functionality) is once we enter something to the shelf, we cannot change what's on the shelf? So, if I enter "Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood" 01Jan2021 for my "format I don't normally read" and then 01Feb2021 realize I'd rather read "When Stars Are Scattered", I wouldn't/"shouldn't" be able to swap those two on this "official" tracker?
I know we can do the challenge with personal, flexible interpretations, but I'd also like to best understand the proposed framework. Thanks in advance!
