LOL I'd be just as confused, except I have teenagers :-)
I do not have a discord account so I don't know of any good reading groups there.

I'm hoping to get a few people interested in the idea as the year progresses. But yes, a Discord channel would be great. Can you imagine just being able to jump into voice chat for a discussion on the books you're reading for a particular prompt?!

I'd love to be part of something like this!
I just stumbled across this today, a ŷ group for a Discord book club:

(The group page has a link to their Discord)

Life’s Library is a good book club on discord.

The Book Club on discord. You can google it.

*volunteers to be a mod for said Discord*

It's not Popsugar-centric, just reading centric, but you're welcome to talk about Popsugar in there!

If this comment/post isn't okay just let me know and I'll delete it!

We're currently in the midst of a mini travel readathon and several of our members are doing the Popsugar challenge.
Feel free to join us:

I don't know about any discord groups particularly geared to YA, but the unofficial ŷ discord has a lot of YA fans. We don't condone genre shaming in our group. The link is above your comment (message 34) if you care to check it out.

I am finding it tricky to manage profile and figure out use. Partly because the terminology is different from other social media- like what is a channel? Why do I have to pick a pronoun? How do I delete the duplicate profile? No, I don't want to invite friends!
No need to answer, just venting. I am figuring it out and my book club chair is helping us all. I am way older than the target age for it and way grumpier. I am also not a gamer.
Anyway, the whole reason I set up an account is that my IRL book club, which is still running virtually and may stay that way permanently, is giving it a try for our monthly virtual meetings etc. We have a FB page and been using FB Room to meet (it is also a GR Group where we maintain our library).
Feminerdy Book Club is all adults. It was set up on Discord only a couple weeks ago. It is small - only about 7 participate regularly. Total group on FB counts maybe 23 members, most inactive.
It is dedicated to reading fantasy and scifi from a strong feminist and gender identity perspective, and the monthly discussions are lively. Most members seem to be in their 30s, with 2 of us much older. I bring a strong literary perspective while everyone else are serious SciFi and Fantasy fans. It is a fabulous group.

we also have the corresponding book clubs in goodreads groups as well if you don't use discord. Anyone is welcome to join if you are 16+!

Exactly my thought! :) Glad I was wrong!

I've been thinking about starting one with a silent book club opportunity but I wanted to see what other people were doing. :D
