Dark Places takes place in the midwest I believe!

Man I was hoping it'd fit the "YA novel with a black main character that isn't about black pain" for you but with it being set just after the Civil War, I don't think there's any way it wouldn't include black pain.


I think Dread Nation might work for that prompt #17. Yes, it's set about ten years after the Civil War, and the main characters are Black, but in this universe the Civil War stopped because the dead on the battlefields became zombies.
