February is Romance and Chick Lit, but many it us have already read the Genre Choice (The Rosie Project), so this is a thread for those interested in the sequel instead.

Roseanne | 1239 comments so excited. I will be starting the beginning of next week.

message 3: by Kassandra (new)

Yes! I loved the first one. Quirky and sweet. Which I particularly enjoy. :D

message 5: by Becca (new)

Becca Tyler (scrappybec) | 296 comments Good suggestion, Renee.

message 6: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments I'll rush off to the library and see if they have a copy! Don't start without me...

message 7: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) | 221 comments Yay!! I am definitely in for this, although I have too many books to finish before I get to this one..but will definitely read this in February!

message 8: by Cristal (new)

Cristal Punnett Yeah, great idea, love the first one, have ordered The Rosie Effect from the library:-)

message 9: by megan (new)

megan | 1148 comments There is a 100% chance I will read them back to back. This will include an emergency trip to BAM for #2 because I won't plan ahead. I could stop on the way home today, but will only remember as I pass the exit and tell myself I'll stop tomorrow. Repeat.

I've moved this thread to the Buddy Reads folder.

message 12: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
Thanks Faye! I was going to do that when I got to my laptop. Looks like you beat me to it!

message 13: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4783 comments Mod
Sorry. I forgot that if I create a thread via app it ends up making it doesn't go folder specific. :(

message 14: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
Renee, I think if you go into the specific folder first, and then make the new thread (iOS has a '+' sign in the top right corner), then it goes into the folder.

Not 100% sure though.

message 15: by Faye, The Dickens Junkie (new)

Faye | 1415 comments Mod
I don't mind moving threads, I just like to let the OP know where it's gone. Goodness knows, I hate it when people move my stuff and don't tell me where they left it! :P

message 16: by Becca (new)

Becca Tyler (scrappybec) | 296 comments The hold list at the library was WAY to long for this one. I "had" to purchase it for my Kindle. I need to read one or two other books before I start this one.

The hold list at our library is the same, so I'll be purchasing this one also.

message 18: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I am not surprised by that. I read the first book last year and was waiting for the release date ever since. I bought mine too.

message 19: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (dianeterry) | 39 comments I will be reading/listening to it in Feb too.

message 20: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments Had to buy this on my Nook and Don's married life is not quite going according to his schedule. Hopefully this will be a fun, light read to start off Feb. Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday, Melissa!

message 22: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I am 4 chapters in. This is such a cute story. I love Don and Rosie.

message 23: by Polyne (new)

Polyne Кaramagi (polinushka) | 40 comments I know - at the beginning I though Don was a total a** - till I realized his problem. Makes sense - now. I'm almost halfway through. I love Rosie; I admire her patience. She is definitely for keeps. Finger crossed. I'm laughing out loud a lot. Hilarious read. Also, I'm learning a lot - about how people with Don's condition think. Interesting.

message 24: by Polyne (new)

Polyne Кaramagi (polinushka) | 40 comments Oops sorry - I thought this was about "The Rosie Project". My bad.

Polyne, you can find The Rosie Effect thread in the Group Reads folder. I believe that's what you're looking for. :)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
Dammit, I meant The Rosie Project in that post. Sorry :)

message 28: by Polyne (new)

Polyne Кaramagi (polinushka) | 40 comments Thank you, Holly. :)

message 29: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments 25% done. I love this one just as much as I loved the first book. Don is just so funny.

message 30: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments Finished, and another fun adventure with Don Tillman, but (view spoiler)

Renee M | 4783 comments Mod
Gah! It's so hard to find time to eyeball-read! And this book is so cute!

Congrats to Melissa for her powers of concentration. :)
(I'm just hopeless.)

Renee M | 4783 comments Mod
I'm just at the beginning where Don is telling us his 4 foreplay moves and how he varies the order so it seems spontaneous. Wait, orange juice?? Haha!

message 33: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I stayed up late and finished last night. So cute I love this story.

message 34: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I haven't been able to get into this one yet but it's on my list for the weekend. I'm really excited to get into it now after Renee's comment about foreplay...but I'm not sure I can handle all that action with Don!

The "cortisol argument" should be used by mothers everywhere.

Renee M | 4783 comments Mod
Oh My God! Lydia of the Bluefin Tuna is horrifying!

message 37: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments Let me know what you think of Rosie this time around and yes, Lydia, I could drop kick. :P

message 38: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4783 comments Mod
So far I like Rosie better in the first book, but I'm chalking a lot up to hormones.

message 39: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments I agree, it might be the hormones, but I was ready to drop kick her more than a few times.

message 40: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I liked her better in the first book too.

message 41: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4783 comments Mod
Yeah. I just figured She's under a lot of stress, plus hormones, plus it's written by a guy.

message 42: by Becca (new)

Becca Tyler (scrappybec) | 296 comments Finally starting this.

message 43: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4783 comments Mod
Just in time for Valentine's!.

message 46: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I was reading through the comments before starting the book and wondering what poor Rosie could to do make so many of you dislike her. Even as I got into the book, I couldn't figure out what the problem is and thought, perhaps, it was just me! Now I'm almost done the book though and I can definitely understand why she has not been getting much love from this group. Poor Don.

message 47: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments Yes, the author sure did a number on Rosie!

message 48: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I can't wait to see how it turns out now.

message 49: by Becca (new)

Becca Tyler (scrappybec) | 296 comments Finished The Rosie Effect. It was just okay. In all likelihood I won't read any additional sequels.

message 50: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Finished! I liked it and I'm happy with it overall, although I do prefer the first book.
