Dome'Loki picked up Alyssa Cole's 2018 book, A Princess in Theory. " Reading about someone passionate about wanting to study the spread of diseases and detect outbreaks before they become epidemics...was oddly reassuring right now. However, when funding is removed and a task force disbanded it had me seething, as that is what happened in the US in 2018." ()

Raven Black (blackraven6913) | 198 comments This is probably the number one question asked at author events! So, for the majority of people, no, because I've learned it is really from life (around them/their own) or they are writing the book they needed/wanted. However, I DO wonder about horror writers. (The old joke: Stephen King (to his kids), "You want dad to tell you a bed time story?" Kids: "Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Robert Underwood (robertunderwood) | 56 comments I've written fiction before so this question had seemed obvious to me from a young age. Idle daydreaming and having a "what if" moment or just asking questions seems to do the trick and I think most are the same. After that it's the story leading you and influences drawing from all kinds of sources. I do love reading about what inspired someone to write a specific story though. I find it inspiring and a good reminder to question and imagine and you never know what will inspire or how.
