Ok, so I have a problem. It turns out that I enjoy picking out and categorizing books nearly as much as I like reading them. I'm a bit of a slow reader, so when I first saw this challenge, I thought it would be fun to do over the course of two years. But then I found this group and I thought it would be cool to do with other people (my friends don't read that much). Plus maybe it would encourage me to push myself and actually finish in a year...

Well, that's not going very well so far. Coming into the new year, I was about 50 pages into The Count of Monte Cristo, so I figured it would be perfect to assign as my 500+ page book. I'm pretty far behind, and have been getting busy with school. Not to mention I keep getting distracted picking out new books for coming weeks before finishing this book! So far this challenge has been distracting me from reading more that encouraging it haha.

I tried banning myself from participating until I finished the book, but that hasn't really worked out either. So I'm not entirely sure what my plan is at this point. I may start reading other books for the challenge at the same time, which I normally don't like to do.

Anyway, here is my overly long list. (I'm including multiples because somehow I have a knack for picking out books over 400 pages, on multiple holds at the library, or that the library doesn't even have. Plus I can't make up my mind :) )

Your list looks very similar to mine! Ha. I also have quite a few for some of the weeks. I couldn't stand not completing the list but then I also knew that I would want options when the week came

I'm glad I'm not the only one with issues deciding! I ended up deleting a bunch randomly so I was only left with one (or two on ones where I reeeally couldn't decide) book to read a week. I'll probably end up reading all of the books on my list, plus ones I deleted from my list. Haha. Good luck!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem! Really this is just the short list; I'm trying to be a bit practical. I haven't even finished adding the rest of the books because I got tired. I'm probably going to run the character limit before I finish my list, lol. So far the best thing this challenge has done for me is made me discover a bunch of books I'd never heard of or thought to read before. (Of course right now my list is just full of books I've been wanting to read for some time). My want-to-read list has increased by years :)

I love searching for books to fit the categories too! It's like a scavenger hunt :) I'm picking my topics at random and I'm just on my third book (I'm reading Lonesome Dove too!). I'll be lucky if I finish 5-10 books off of this challenge. Good Luck!

Yes that's exactly what it is! I loved scavenger hunts as a kid. You're making me feel a little better too. I really want to read along with everyone, but I think I'm probably going to have to go back to my two year plan.

I've been having these problems too! I'm already behind, I was already reading a book when I found this challenge and wanted to finish it before I started the challenge and it took me longer to finish it than I thought it would, so I only started reading the first book from my challenge the other night. Luckily, although it's a long book, I'm loving it and I should be able to finish it a bit quicker than usual because it's a very fast paced book, but I'm a bit of a slower reader in general. I think I'm probably going to end up reading some of my challenge books out of the correct order because there are some that I want to read more than the others and there are some categories that I'm still unsure whether to read the book I chose for it or pick another book.
