The Sun Also Rises, by Hemingway (282pp)
If it's chosen, and there is sufficient interest, I will moderate an optional side read of 'Everybody Behaves Badly: The True Story Behind Hemingway's Masterpiece The Sun Also Rises' by Lesley M.M. Blume (373pp)

I just finished, “Typhoon, a novella by Joseph Conrad.

While maybe not the April choice, it was interesting and would make for nice discussion sometime.

Just two ideas so far! One suggestion is mine, and the other looks really good, but a little short (acknowledged) to serve as a monthly read. That's not to dismiss it: we will consider the Conrad carefully. But would LOVE to see more ideas: I'm not at all excited to make the first Monthly Read Jenn and I select the one I've been advocating for.

Miss Lonelyhearts - Nathanial West
Well, I hesitate to suggest another for May, but this might belong on the general suggestion list.
How about Washington Square -- Henry James, 240 pages.

Remember our group rules for a classic to be at least 50 years old. Also, please keep page counts to around 350 pages or less. Larger books are designated for our Quarterly Doorstoppers.
