Please post a comment below to nominate a book for the group to read for June 2021.

Please use the "add book/author" link just above the comment box to insert a link to the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ book page for the book you are nominating, so other members can more easily assess it. Apparently this only works on the desktop version of the site; if you use the app, the link is not available yet, so just be sure to put the full title and author.

To check whether a book has been previously read or already selected to be read, check the following list: /group/books...

You may nominate a book which has been suggested previously and did not win. You may nominate more than one book, but we might not include all of your nominations in the voting.

Please do not nominate a book which is unlikely to be available to most members, such as one which was just published within the last three months or which is only available on Kindle in the U.S.

Nominations will close on March 20 or when we have about 10 good nominations, whichever occurs first.

This book seems to have limited availability. Amazon and Barnes & Noble both sell the paperback, but the hardback is from third parties (used?). There are no ebooks or audiobook versions. And neither of my local libraries has it. In fact in Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, only 262 people have shelved it, even though it was published in early 2007.

Herman Diaz | 116 comments I nominate Dinosaurs: How they lived and evolved. It's the best natural history of dinos for adults. I reviewed the 1st edition ( /review/show... ). Also, this group needs more dino love.

message 9: by Michael (new)

I'd definitely like to read this, but it's a little too new. It was just published in February, and may not yet be available to a number of our members.

Susan (susanj13) | 97 comments We visited a bookstore today after more than six months and treated ourselves to a few tomes. I'll nominate one of them - Gene Machine: The Race to Decipher the Secrets of the Ribosome by Venki Ramakrishnan

"She Has her Mother's Laugh" is a very good book. But we read it in April 2019.

Just a heads up, "Dinosaurs: How they lived and evolved" is the best of the nominees ;)

Nominations are now closed.

Please vote for your preference at the following poll:

/poll/show/2...

which will be open through April 26.

NOTE: If you "voted" in a comment in the above thread, that doesn't count. You must go to the poll to vote.
