Lacey I'm picking my topics at random. I like not knowing what I'm going to read next :) Although I've been making notes about books that I think would be good for certain categories.

I'm such a slow reader. I used to be one of those "book a week" readers but between working, kids, etc. I don't have a lot of time to sit and read right now. And when I do it makes me sleepy :) I'm trying to get myself back in the habit though.

I doubt I'll finish this whole list but I want to see how many I can finish. I listen to a lot of audiobooks in my car during my work commute, but I'm limiting this challenge to just books I actually read.

Connie Crum (libraryof1k) | 58 comments Good luck!
The Stand is a pretty ambitious book on its own. It took my mother (who has much the problem of finding time as you, I think) several months to finish it.

Charity (faeryrebel78) I'm reading The Stand for my book that came out the year I was born. It is a long one so we shall see how it goes. Good luck with your challenge!

Lacey It is crazy long! And I had to push myself to finish it. It's a really good story but I think there could have been some things edited out and it wouldn't have affected the story. Stephen King can get a little wordy :)

Lacey FINALLY finished Lonesome Dove (#18-Pulitzer Prize book). It took me forever and probably 3 times borrowing it from the digital library. :) It was a great book though. Now I'm reading a play (#49). I picked Barefoot in the Park, mostly because I already had a book of Neil Simon's plays. So far so good, and I'm hoping it won't take me to long to finish it.

Lacey Just finished 'Salems Lot (#22 a book that scares me). It didn't really scare me but it was definitely creepy. I love the beginnings and middles of Stephen King's books, but I always find myself disappointed with the endings.

My next topic is #14, a non-fiction book. I picked a book about Gypsy Rose Lee. I've been fascinated with her ever since I saw the movie years ago with Natalie Wood. EDITED: I couldn't get into the Gypsy Rose Lee book. So boring. I changed it to Unsinkable by Debbie Reynolds. And I decided to switch my topic to "A Memoir" instead of "Non-fiction".
