Amelia (whatameliareads) | 268 comments So jumped into this last night but didn't get a chance to write up what I thought. So far liking the characters, can see why people don't like the way Leo's ADHD is portrayed though. Jason losing his memory is interesting but he also seems to have retained a lot of subconscious memory - like knowing how to fight, jumping off the skywalk, names of gods/symbols etc.

Also enjoying the changing pov and i'm REALLY hoping it means we get Annabeth's pov at some point!

Raquel (mahayhay) | 212 comments I forgot to post my thoughts yesterday too so here they are real quick before I get into today's reading. I've also been enjoying the mutliple POVs. Rick Riordan's writing has really grown a lot since the Percy Jackson series!

Jason as a character is really interesting. I've thankfully managed to avoid spoilers for this series all these years so I honestly have no clue what's going on with him. I'm excited to learn who Piper's mother is. I was expecting her to be Hera's daughter for a while but now it doesn't seem like that will be the case. Unless it's a minor god I have no idea who it'll be.

Amelia (whatameliareads) | 268 comments I've been awful at avoiding spoilers but i'll keep them off this thread. Having them claimed in day 2s chapters was interesting - I definitely wasn't expecting that. Not sure piper's makes 100% sense to me honestly but oh well.

Chiron's acting very suspicious and keeping some big secret but I don't get why if it'll help them. I guess we'll find out.

Raquel (mahayhay) | 212 comments I've fallen behind on the readings since I haven't had many chances to read lately but hopefully I'll catch up in the next few days!

Yeah, I was surprised by Piper's mother too. I guess her powers make a little sense but also not really 😅 I was hoping she would be the daughter of a minor god because some of the minor gods are really cool but their children are never given that big of a role (at least so far).

Amelia (whatameliareads) | 268 comments Yeah don't worry I also fell behind last night and then I'm in hospital for tests today so won't get much in depending on how tired I am.

It did bug me how they made a point of Piper saying she declined her fathers offers for designer clothes and hair stylists etcetera and then that automatically translates to other characters calling her ugly or a rat. I know it's a way of telling the supposed target audience of preteens that it's what's inside that counts/you don't need fancy things to be pretty but man does it bug me that that is the way they chose to do it.

Yeah I was also hoping for a minor god or one of these roman ones.

Amelia (whatameliareads) | 268 comments So I am still a little bit behind but it is starting to make sense to me that Piper is an Aphrodite kid

Loving that the Hunters are back, I always loved them.

Raquel (mahayhay) | 212 comments I have about a hundred pages left so I'm going to try to finish it today. I've gotten used to Piper's ability now too, but I still don't think it's as obvious as Leo having fire powers because he's Hephaestus' son.

Seeing the Hunters again was nice. I wonder if we'll be getting anymore cameos before the end of this book?

I was super sad about was happened to Festus. I wish he had been in the book a little longer.

Raquel (mahayhay) | 212 comments Alright, I finished this Wednesday but it's taken me a while to gather my thoughts. Since I just finished writing my review I feel like I'm ready!

Overall I really enjoyed it. I took me a while to get into it but I really liked the plot. The way Riordan has added Roman gods feels natural and I'm excited to learn more about this other camp! The whole idea of Percy being switched with Jason to bring the two camps together is such a cool twist!

Leo ended up being my favorite character. His powers were awesome and I'm intrigued about what his role in the Great Prophecy will be.

What were your feelings on Piper and Jason? I have to admit the romance between them was my least favorite part of the book 😓 I'm not a big fan of instalove and that's what it felt like since Piper continued to have feelings for him even after she found out her memories of him were fake. I'm curious to know how other people see it though.

I read the description for the next book and I'm not sure how I feel about it. After spending a whole book getting to know three new characters I don't know how to feel about the next book focusing on different characters.
