Did the book really have to open with the heroine being raped? Not a fan of that. The guy definitely deserved to die.

I enjoy the friendship between the three ladies so far. Redmayne is interesting so far, I'm curious how he and Alexandra end up together as he's currently engaged to Francesca. I also really want to know who killed Francesca's family, I wonder if it's the person whose name she just found.

You know I wasn't really expecting this suspense plot of someone constantly trying to kill one of them, but I have to say I'm enjoying it.

I like how they're falling for each other even though they don't entirely trust one another.

Well I expected some of those people to be involved but not all of them. I liked that the suspense/mystery aspect of the book was well done.

I was happy that Piers appropriately groveled once he realized how much of an ass he was being.

I ended up really enjoying this one and am going to go with 4 stars. Now I want to read the rest of the series.

Chapter 1 - 5 : (view spoiler)[There was some heavy stuff right since the beginning and I was not expecting it at all. I went into this thinking it to be another feel good historical romance but I am happy to see serious issues addressed. Piers doesn't seem like a bad character per se but he definitely needs to be more gentle. I am curious to see how these two fall in love (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6 - 10 : (view spoiler)[Damn I was not prepared for such an assault of emotions within me when I first decided to read this book. The whole Alexandra's thought process is so relatable and tear jerking that I am having a hard time focusing on anything else. I might slowly be falling in love with this book (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11 - 16 : (view spoiler)[Alexandra and Piers banter in EVERYTHING. Although I got a bit irked by Piers getting angry upon finding out she wasn't a virgin, I just have to keep in mind the time period this is set in. Beyond that, I am absolutely loving these two and I am sure Alexandra would tell Piers the truth soon, I am a bit afraid of how he's react (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17 - 23 : (view spoiler)[I thought everything was going so well.....I really hope Piers is ready to listen to Alexandra, I am sure he'd get so angry upon learning the truth about rape that he'd want to avenge her right away. My heart hurts for Alexandra and everything she has suffered through (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[I did not suspect Julia for a second.....although Patrick seemed like an obvious villain. The whole end suspense was brilliant and I greatly enjoyed the book as a whole. I am so happy that I picked this up. Definitely going to continue with the rest of the series which I assume would follow Cecelia and Francesca's stories (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1 - 3 : (view spoiler)[ Oohh Ramsay and Cecelia’s story! Out of all three Red Rogues, i find Cecelia to be the most troubled and I can’t understand how or why her own father would do something like this to her. I am not completely sure that Hernrietta was good but I am hoping the establishment didn’t have anything to do with the missing girls. I am not a fan of Ramsay’s character as of rn but maybe he’ll grow on me later. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4 - 8 : (view spoiler)[Oh i am so infuriated with Ramsay for being so terribly rigid and not ready to listen to Cecelia at all. Sure the kiss they shared had all elements of burning passion between them but his behaviour in the last chapter was nothing short of rude. I don't know how they will ever move past this incident (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 9 - 11 : (view spoiler)[well Ramsay sure did redeem himself with his heroic rescue of Cecelia and Phoebe and now their going away to his cottage and learning about his past, that just left me feeling really bad for him. The way Cecelia was able to let her guard down in front of him was also very admirable (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12 - 17 : (view spoiler)[Oh no, Ramsay and Cecelia's fight was so unfortunate but it did make sense so. I do understand where Ramsay is coming from but that does not make his expectations of Cecelia any less unreasonable. I really liked the way Cecelia handled the situation though and am glad that she did not yield to what Ramsay was demanding of her (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[This was so action packed and I loved every moment of it , definitely did not doubt the culprits for even a second and was shocked by the discovery but Ramsay was the hero once again and it was pretty amazing. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1-6: (view spoiler)[Reading about the massacre was so painful and my heart went out to Pippa but her saying she wanted vengeance for everyone but mostly for Declan didn’t sit well with me. Her whole family was butchered and it was Declan’s death that affected her the most and at that age? nah. I had an inkling that the Devil of Dorset was Declan himself and I was correct. Chapter 7-10: (view spoiler)[I cant wait for them both to realise that they are working towards the same goal. There’s such an aura of mystery around Chandler though that I get a bit confused at times as to what exactly is he talking about (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11-16: (view spoiler)[This is getting all kinds of weird with occult and rituals and infiltrating the council and I am not sure I am liking it all. Just something I wasn’t expecting from a romance tbh and since the end goal of Crimson Council isn’t clear at all I am getting so fed up of their antics (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17-22: (view spoiler)[I am getting a tad bit uncomfortable with their romance since Chandler thinks of her to be Franscesca not knowing that she’s actually Pippa and he will fall in love with that girl if he does. Not sure how it’d go when he finds out her real identity. (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[I found the resolution towards the end to be quite diabolical tbh, after reiterating several times that it was Franscesca he loved, Chandler sure had a list of reasons he loved Pippa instantly, it just wasn’t very believable to me and I am a tad bit disappointed (hide spoiler)]

Finally starting book one.

Chapters 1-6 (view spoiler)[I was not expecting that! Especially from the prologue. It just went right into it with some heavy stuff. I'm listening to the audiobook, so I honestly don't know how to spell the people's names. But it's good so far and I'm enjoying it. I might switch to the ebook soon though because it's taking me forever to get through with a three-year-old trying to talk to me while I listen. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 7-13 (view spoiler)[To be completely honest, this audiobook is a little hard to get through. I feel like I'm zoning in and out of it because it's not that great of a narrator. I like the banter between the two and the plot so far, but I'm just not loving this narrator. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 14-21 (view spoiler)[This is getting interesting. I still don't love the audio though. I feel like I'm going to have to reread it as a ebook. I just want something for Alexandra to go right for once. I feel so bad for her. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[Okay, the ending got intense with her getting shot and everything. I did enjoy the book overall. Just hated the audiobook. I finally read the ebook for the last two chapters and it was much better. (hide spoiler)]

Started on audio, so I'll be reading that one slowly until I can get the ebook from my library.

I gave up on the audio. I'm going to start the book over as soon as I get the ebook. Hopefully soon. I might start book three first if it's going to be awhile.

Finally got the book from the library, so I'm going to try to get to it next week and just restart the entire book.

I will finally be picking this one up this weekend.
