Hi, everyone!

Those of you who are familiar with the quarterly NF group read at the old LOBA group are no doubt aware that we have a poll up for the 1Q22 read there, and the poll doesn't close for another week. The read starts in January. At this point I'm hosting that, and my plan is either to host the actual read here (if all the voters make the move), or host a thread for the read in both places (here and at LOBA) if some people stay there and circumstances permit. Either way, if you voted in the poll, that vote will count, and a discussion thread for the winning book will be hosted here.

Additionally, starting with 2Q22, the entire group read will be conducted here.

I'm a nonfiction reader (traditionally about 50%, but perhaps lower in the last couple months), and I've made the transition! So I will participate in NF chatter and reading.

(As for 4Q21, I'm in the middle of The Anthropocene Reviewed and have Donner Dinner Party waiting for me at the library.)

I read a lot of NF, but somehow never participated so I'm hoping to change this in 2022.
Current read that I find fascinating: The Informant.

I finished Donner Dinner Party (2021Q4 selection) Who nominated it? I'd like to thank you. I don't think I would have read it otherwise (some history doesnt appeal to me as much as other history), but was drawn in by the kookiness of the way it's narrated. I'm now going to go find others in the series!

I've read The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of a Donner Party Bride a couple years ago, and found it very good. I'll check out the Donner Dinner Party as soon as my library lets me borrow another book 🤣

Woot I found you. I was involved it the nonfiction. I am glad we still have it. I do confess to reading the books and not commenting. I will try to be better. Did we ever discuss Caste? I read it but i couldn't find the thread discussing it
