This was the month where multiple locations were involved on quite a few books. Murder on the Lusitania is mostly set on the Atlantic Ocean, the first 2 chapters are in England. The Sirens Sang of Murder covered England, Jersey and Guernsey, Monaco and France. The Long Ships involved Sweden, France, Moorish Spain, England, modern day Ukraine and Bulgaria.

Currently reading Independent People set in Iceland, and Mona in Three Acts in Belgium.

The amount of books i've added because of everyone's list, is astounding.

The first 3 months of 2023 have been heavily skewed towards England, but I'm at least busy with 2 books that will add new countries namely Azerbaijan and Tanzania.

I spent today updating the list and came to the sad conclusion, I only added Bulgaria as a new country in the past year...

I mainly deconstructed Scotland and Wales today to try and track reading within the counties and added to some of my English counties.

For 2025 I have only really covered England, Scotland and Australia so far this year.

Four new countries added since January:

Cambodia: In the Shadow of the Banyan
Comoros: A Girl Called Eel
Croatia: Hair Everywhere and Singer in the Night
Montenegro: Catherine the Great and the Small

These were all well worth the effort for the countries. Knowing it is based on a true story, In the Shadow of the Banyan is heart-breaking. Both authors of the Croatian books have won the local literature award for Young Writers.

A short book that I added for the Czech Republic is Closely Observed Trains which is a beautiful novella set in WWII.

Two books from France which both made me smile and feel happy this past week are Life, Only Better by Anna Gavalda and The Godmother.

The rest of my reading for the year has been mainly UK based.
