Alexandra | 452 comments For 2022 I hope to read 60 books and really hope to finish my States List! I have been working on it for a couple years (believe I started in 2012) now and really want to finish it this year!
I will include longer chapter books I read with my daughter since they are usually 60-150 or so pages and can sometimes be a chore to read 🙄😂.
I will also be joining the 2022 Poetry/Plays/Epistolary Books/Essays/Short Stories and Motley List Challengec so hopefully I can overlap a few of their books with states! Crossing fingers! LoL. Happy Reading Everyone!

~ I also hope to finish a few of my "was reading but got sidetracked by other books" books 😂 I have been meaning to do this for a while ( I even have a ŷ shelf of them 😂). Maybe if I actually list them in my challenge it will motivate me (they aren't bad books I just get easily distracted by shiny new books.) 😂

As I told you before; I am so excited about this list. You will definitely finish this year.

Good luck. Can't wait to see what you pick for Utah. The list I have for Utah in USA folder is short, but there are some goodies.

Thank you so much Alondra! And I am so excited I found a short story to read for Nevada so i get to cross it off before this year ends, woohoo. I will definitely look at that folder again! I believe there's one called Junction Utah or something like that that i was thinking of trying but not totally sure yet!

Lea (leaspot) | 3513 comments You're so close, Alexandra. I am so excited for you. I just finished my list this month. North Dakota was a challenge. I had a book all picked out, but I never seemed to want to read it...so I picked up another book and couldn't believe that it also had a decent amount of the action happen in North Dakota. It wasn't planned, but it worked out. Good luck and happy reading!

No doubt if I'd known the book would count for North Dakota, I wouldn't have wanted to read it. :-) :-) :-) Good luck with your last few, I hope you find the right books.

😂😂😂 thank you so much!!!! It's seriously a very small amount of books for some States North Dakota being one of them. What book was it that you ended up reading for it??

message 15: by Ioana (new)

You know I have gone back and forth about that one! I might have to at least give it a try or i was thinking of trying LaRose by her again. I tried a while back listening to it but I just couldn't get into it but it did sound interesting so i might try reading it again. We will see! I change my mind constantly 😂😂😂thank you Ioana for the suggestion I had forgotten about that one!! I appreciate it!

I had exactly the same experience, but I had no reason to try it again. Check out this list, maybe you'll find a different book /list/show/2...

I read Rocket Girl: The Story of Mary Sherman Morgan, America's First Female Rocket Scientist, which I had heard about because she did her work here in California and her son wrote a play and this book after he couldn't get the newspaper to print her obituary (they thought he was making up what she accomplished because there wasn't a good record of it.) Anyway, I was thinking it was a book about California, but come to find out, she grew up in North Dakota and there are a decent number of chapters set there. Problem solved. :-)

Alexandra | 452 comments Finished book #5 Windswept & Interesting My Autobiography by Billy Connolly 2.5/3 Stars! Welp I saw this book on Audible and being absolutely in love with Mr. Connolly's voice and accent I thought I would love this! Sadly this was not the case. I had never heard or watched his stand up before and really only know him from a couple movies. Some parts were extremely interesting but also sad. I did laugh at some stuff but overall way too much bad and crude language/humor, just wasn't for me but still love that voice!
