It was a quiet morning and a busy afternoon, but I managed to hit my target.
My father will be fine. The problem is that when he doesn't feel well he doesn't eat. Which isn't a good idea for anyone, let alone when you have diabetes. So he feels extra shitty.
I hope he feels better today and can work this afternoon; it promises to be lovely day and I would like to go on a walk. At the moment my chances are 50/50 I think.

It was okay, I'll give it another one or two books before deciding whether to continue with the series.

A fun ghost story. It's a mystery ghost story, with a dash of romance (but not too much). A quick read, but very enjoyable.
I'm thinking of doing another "read what's on your Kindle" in December. At this time there are no book releases I would want to buy immediately are going to be released next month, so that will make it easier. OTOH, in December I read less than normal because it's a busy month in the store and I work extra. I expect I will have even less time than normal this year.

The third and final book in the Ghostland Trilogy, though the door is left open for a continuation. It was a fun trilogy, this book was hard to put down.

Meh, the story dragged on until 70% in, things did happen, but it was mostly life on the homestead. In the end it is unclear if there is a resolution to the problem or not.

An okay story. It took a while to set up the story and get going. But unlike with the last book I didn't mind it as much, because this isn't a stand alone book, but the start of a series so it'll take more to set that up. It was good enough to continue this series.
I'm already looking for books for my vacation in January/February. That week the (for now) last book of the Ruth Galloway series will be released. So that is on top of my reading list.

Technically I have some time to read in the evening, but I'm often too tired to concentrate on reading.
Hopefully by mid January I can get back to my normal reading and do some binge reading during my vacation.

Another great addition to the series. Just one more to go before I'm up to date with the series. Luckily another one is going to be released next year.
So far I've read 60, considering I hoped I would finish 24 books I'm very happy. But I just saw I've read 19471 pages so far. Will I reach 20000? With the next book I picked I won't make it, so I need to read two books. Next week I might have some reading time, but after that I won't have much time since I'm working more than full time for two or three weeks.

Great book. It's got the creepy is-it-paranormal-or-not vibe.
A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham
Didn't work for me, I found the main character very annoying and she should have known/done with her being a psychologist.
I've now read over 20000 pages this year! I'll probably finish my current book tomorrow, unless it's really busy in the store, and then I'll start the latest Rivers of London/Peter Grant books. Which I will probably not finish before the end of the year.

An okay gothic horror. Second book of the author and like his first book not a happy ending.
This is my last book of 2022, I'll start the latest Rivers of London/Peter Grant book tomorrow, but I won't finish it before the end of the year.
I've set up my reading thread on GR, I've set up my new digital reading journal and I've just set up the reading list sheet in Google Docs. Now I only have to set up the official GR reading challenge, but that isn't available yet.

My favourite book was House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas, the first in the Crescent City series. I plan on reading the second one soon. There was only one book I abandoned, The Croning by Laird Barron. I just couldn't get into it.
My 2023 goals are to read at least 25 books and write at least 10 reviews in my book journal.

I did read on Sunday, but yesterday was another dud because I went to the zoo, and afterwards I was so tired (probably still after effects of the vaccines) I went to bed early.
But today I'm probably working all day (my father got his booster yesterday) and with the stormy weather I'm not expecting it to be busy today. So I'm hoping I can get some good reading time in.
Also today Wendy Webb's latest spooky book is out, so that will be my next read. Having a book lined up that you're really looking forward to works great as a motivator for me.
