Someone also recommended Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare to me as being something that might qualify. Sometimes it is hard to see if the book really will fit the category w/o reading it so hopefully one of these will be good.

Wayland, for Prototype: Serious Malfunction - I'm guessing it can't be about someone who goes lame and uses a wheelchair, if they don't get their legs amputated? I am reading such a book atm.
So, I need a second opinion. I just read The Red Scrolls of Magic for Rex Mundi: Delusions of Godhood, and I am honestly not sure if it fits or not. It comes down to how you interpret what being a god is ... (view spoiler) So, has anyone else read this and has thoughts? And what say you Wayland? In case it doesn't work, have you guys more examples for this, that you know works? Just so I don't read another book that may not fit.
In case it doesn't work I can still use it for Rex Mundi immortality, so no sweat.
Oh and if you haven't read Small Gods by Terry Pratchett, it would work in several ways for this, but if you have one with the tortoise on the cover, it will definitely work for god on the cover (you will know why when you read the book).
