My 9. The Garden of the Finzi-Continis by Bassani, Giorgio. A common theme it is a short one.
Aloha! I am in Hawaii. Everyone is traveling again, it is so crowded here.

Hi Pamela. Black Dahlia was a BOTM in 2019. Here is the link in case you want to see the discussion.

Is this going to be a trauma read?"
No, from what I recall reading it some years back. It's rather feel-good and feminist.

13. Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz. This book has been on my list for quite some time. I am going to try the Audible version read by Manuel Miranda.

Oh good! I could use a break from bleak.

I seem to have done the same thing with Their Eyes Were Watching God. I've marked it as owned in my spreadsheet, but I can't find it on kindle or shelf! Fortunately it's practically free on kindle.

Good to know about this book, I will add it to my TBR for Halloween read. I am going to do a Halloween group read again this year. Start looking for another spooky read.

I'm glad! I was considering removing it from the list in June, when we can reshuffle, so that I could just read it anyway.

20. Flaubert's Parrot by Julian Barnes. This one has been on my list for quite some time. I am glad that it is short.
Many of you have some great books.

I read that not that long ago, and enjoyed it a lot. It has snark, it's kind of both highbrow and silly at the same time.

PS I really enjoyed Flaubert's Parrot too.
