16. The Reawakening by Levi, Primo. A somber read but I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
My #16 comes with good news and bad news. It's The Emigrants by Sebald, which is the good news. The bad news is that it is my last Sebald to be read...

My #12 is The End of the Affair - which promises to be short and not so sweet.

#12: The Castle of Crossed Destinies by Calvino. In French. Finally, some light reading after too much stuffy 18-19th century reading...

You consider Calvino light reading? I have to admit that I found If On a Winter's Night a Traveller way more challenging than any 19th century novel I've read.

I agree, Winter's Night is a bit more challenging. But his earlier works like the Cloven Viscount and the Nonexistent Knight are narratively quite inventive and very funny.

Hi Leni, I agree that July is going too quickly. I think you will be okay for Siddartha. My husband just read it on a plane ride and he said it wasn't complicated:) Happy reading.

Gail, I hope you enjoy Robber Bride, I loved that book. I have finished all the Atwood books on the list which makes me a little sad.

My number 11 is House mother normal : a geriatric comedy. I have not read a humorous book in a long time so looking forward to that.

Thanks! We're moving to another town in August, and I'm not sure how much time I'll have for reading. I definitely won't have the headspace for anything complicated!

T..." thinking of you as you move. Something that I would not relish. Siddhartha is not complicated and it is short.

Thanks Kristel. I don't relish it either, but it will hopefully be a move for the better. Looking forward to getting it over with.

Thanks Diane, I’m glad to hear you liked it. I like Ghosh’s writing and enjoy books set in India, so I have high hopes of this book.

I loved Kiss of the Spider Woman! The movie is really good too. William Hurt and Raul Julia. It's a strange one though.

That one ended up being quite controversial. Interested to see what you think.
