I just noticed that the number of pages is wrongly entered for The Return of the King: Being the third part of the Lord of the Rings: 1564 pages instead of 593. (ISBN13: 9780008264222)

The page numbers follow those of The Two Towers. The Two Towers ends on page # 971 and the Return of the King starts on page # 972, therefore the Return of the King cannot have 1564 pages, but 593.

Yes I agree, but it does not make sense here... If you only were to read the return of the king (and not the two towers and the fellowship of the ring), you would only read 593 pages, and not 1564...
