If you are joining us, we are now at page 80 of "How to Stop Time" by Matt Haig.
Tom Hazard is still looking for his daughter Marion, he is settling into his new job as a history teacher. He has a met a woman Camille who likes him. He is reluctant to start a relationship with her due to threats from the Albatross Society secret group, who do not permit members to fall in love.
Tom continues to have flashbacks from the past. The past doesn't seem to let go of Tom while he tries to live in the present. Tom flashes back on the murder of Dr. Hutchinson and how he met Rose and fell in love with her. Present day, he is threatened by a group of boys who want his wallet. He manages to talk himself out of the attack. He goes on Facebook to try and find more information about Marion and discovers nothing new. Instead, he looks up Camille and her life.
Tom continues teaching and students are confused as to how Tom knows so much personal information about figures from the past, like Shakespeare. Tom really did know many, he just couldn't admit to it for fear of being discovered who he is.
Let us know what your thoughts are about the story so far? There are many flashbacks in Tom's life. He can't seem to let go of the memory of Rose and others who have crossed his path. Camille continues to be a part of his life, she wants to get closer. Can he risk this? The secret society will not allow this relationship. Why is Tom willing to risk getting closer but continuing this relationship with Camille?
