My interest was piqued after reading the blurb for The Magnolia Palace but that book didn’t sound the cleanest. Wondering if you’ve found other similar books or books containing any of the things listed above? Thanks in advance!

Side note: I don’t like supernatural/paranormal stuff either.

Under a Dark Star contains character names of people who worked at Bletchley Park during World War 2. They were the some of the brilliant people who broke the Nazi codes and so were able to see what the Nazis were planning. They have been attributed with shortening the war by two years.

So far, no one has noticed this - as far as I know. I included those names as they were sworn to secrecy for many years and therefore were not thanked until some of them had died! It was my way of keeping their names in our memories.

I guess this was not exactly what you were looking for but if you want to play 'hunt the heroes' it could be a starting place for you.
