Rules:
1. There are 36 monsters to hunt for the next three months. Each monster has the weapons that can kill them listed. Since I’m the Mistress of the Hunt, you’ll find some unorthodox weapons.
2. Read books that will have the weapon(s) listed for the Monster on the Cover or in text, in the title or simply read a book with that monster.
3. There is no particular order, you can Hunt as you please.
4. HOB Standard Challenge Rules apply.
5. Gorgon is the only Monster that both Hunters might have to read a book each. Watch out for the surprise!!

Hey! I thought that was you but then I'm in a few places and I wasn't for sure. This should be a fun hunt. :)

It's almost time to hunt monsters. Since there's no official order where should we start?

Let's start with the gorgon since we both might potentially read for that one. Would you like to attack or read for medicine?

I'm catching up now! So sorry, I'll try to make sure to check in each day. Should we read for medicine to have some in case we need it? If you're already reading for attack that's fine too.

I just noticed that we are in the same hufflepuff house too!! I'm working on finishing up a couple books for extra credit over there today and I know that one of them has sword in the text. :)

I also may be slightly confused on the rules on this challenge.

Small world! If you have sword covered, the book I just finished today for Hufflepuff has milk in it! So for the gorgon, you find sword, and then flip a coin. Heads, you're poisoned, tails, you got away unscathed.

I think the easiest way to do this is to call out what weapon/monster we're working on so we don't end up reading for the same ones lol

A Boggart is a shape-shifting creature that will assume the form of whatever most frightens the person who encounters it. Nobody knows what a Boggart looks like if nobody is there to see it, although it continues to exist, usually giving evidence of its presence by rattling, shaking or scratching the object in which it is hiding. Boggarts particularly like confined spaces, but may also be found lurking in woods and around shadowy corners.

The spell that defeats a Boggart can be tricky, because it involves making the creature into a figure of fun, so that fear can be dispelled in amusement.

So glad! I was hoping to make it to the Louder Than Life festival this year, but unfortunately it didn't work out. Maybe next year. Take your time! We're doing really well so far. I have a couple of monsters covered from the books I'm reading for House Cup. I'm hoping to find some of the harder words.

An imp is a European mythological being similar to a fairy or demon, frequently described in folklore and superstition. The word may perhaps derive from the term ympe, used to denote a young grafted tree.

Imps in general are susceptible to the effects of Spirit.

You should totally go to Louder one year! Who are some of your favorite bands? One of mine is Halestorm and Lzzy came out to sing in street clothes with The Dead Deads on one of the early stages and that was so great to see. Not many people recognized her. BMTH and Evanescence are a couple of my others. The Warning was a good little band. John has a whole different screaming list but I tend to like the more rocky bands.

I *love* Halestorm. Their video for I Miss the Misery was filmed at a local rock club that I go to occasionally. Shinedown, BMTH, Rob Zombie, Apocalyptica, Theory of a Deadman, The Pretty Reckless. The list of bands that I don't love that were there this year was way shorter, haha

That is really cool about I Miss the Misery. I wouldWe have seen Halestorm three times this year already and I was kinda bummed not to talk John into taking me this summer when they were touring with The Pretty Reckless. We saw The Pretty Reckless earlier this year and then again this month and times didn't work for the summer show. I wish more of the bands would come to Louisville but we usually have to drive a couple hours due to Louder pulling them all. There were so many good bands this year. We didn't see Theory because they had them on the backstage at the same time as Alice Cooper and we decided to see Alice because we knew Theory would be around again. I really need a BMTH concert so they can play me more songs. They were really good. Shinedown is another one of my favorite bands and we saw them earlier this year too. Our list for next year consists of watching the tour dates for Korn and Spiritbox for John, Halestorm for me, and Evanescence and BMTH for both of us and then we will just go from there. We are also planning an extended family overseas trip so our concert money may be tighter next year but Louder will definitely happen. We already preordered our tickets. See, I can totally ramble about music.....

Also, on the From Blood and Ash book, do you think that's a silver sword on the cover? I couldn't really tell and I used it for curse but silver sword is harder so I can switch to that one if you think it is too.
