Stephanie A-M (steph818) | 35 comments So how was 2022 for you? We still have a few weeks left but did you reach your goal? Are you close? I met my goal of 100 books. I have 3 on my "currently reading" list and I am not sure if I am going to finish or just focus on doing a wrap up for the year and get started on my goals for next year.

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) I went over my goal of 52. I'm currently at 69 for the year and might finish a few more in the next 3 weeks. I've been trying to focus on quality reads rather than quantity and I've been overall satisfied in that category as well, although there haven't been as many 5 star reads this year as I would otherwise like.

AurorainBookland | 402 comments I went over my goal by 5, 6 if I finish this huge book 564 pages. Magyk (Septimus Heap, #1) by Angie Sage

I have to use members corner as the site keeps deleting my challenge page under the goal numbers ;( Ive tried 3 or 4 times I add another list and goodreads cant find the page?! But members corner works fine. Yay!

Robbin (curlqueenreads) | 24 comments I definitely did NOT meet my 2022 goal loll I had a goal of 100 books and I’ve only read 34 so far. I’m hoping this group can keep me more accountable with my reading goals next year! I do think I’ve read a lot of new authors and I’m more comfortable switching between genres.

Stephanie A-M (steph818) | 35 comments No worries, Friend. Onward and upward. What types of goals are you planning on setting for 2023?

message 6: by Robbin (new)

Robbin (curlqueenreads) | 24 comments My reading goals for 2023 are:

1. Read 100 books
2. Read at least 1-2 nonfiction books per month
3. Read more books from my personal library

I’m really hoping I can stick with #3 lol My compulsion to buy books when I have so many I still haven’t read at home is crazy 😩😂

Sooooo...shall we discuss #3 because I am a firm believer that reading books AND buying books are 2 VERY different hobbies and one can AND should actively engage in both. We will engage in ALL of our bookish hobbies equally in this corner of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ :-)

It is what is. I buy them to look at them and grow my library as much as I buy them to read them. I love books. So if you slip fro time to time this year...just holler at your girl and let me know where the sale is.

Robbin (curlqueenreads) | 24 comments You made me feel so much better 😩 I will now be referring to my book buying as a hobby 🤗😂 I will definitely let you know where the sales are LOL

Amber Prince | 116 comments For first time I actually made and surpassed my reading goal this year so I upped the goal for next year. I also hope this will be the year I actually keep up with my goodreads page. 🙂

message 11: by Anshika (new)

Anshika | 51 comments 2022 was the year of reading for me.
I started to read books since January and I now I am feeling in love with books.
Wishing to read more in 2023.

Heather Dufield | 94 comments I hear you. I've got hundreds of books on my book shelves that I need to read and I still keep buying more. I also check books out from the library and also when I see a little free library on my running route I look and see what is interesting in there. Plus I get emails with free or low priced books for my Kindle. So the pile is constantly growing.

Robbin (curlqueenreads) | 24 comments Heather feels my pain loll Between all of that and BOTM my book buying hobby is crazy sometimes 😩

I loveee the library, it’s impossible to not walk out with 5-8 books!

Heather Dufield | 94 comments Just this morning I checked out an ebook for one of the GoodReads challenges and I also after looking up that book. I've got to go tomorrow when the library opens and pick up another physical book and I just started a book yesterday that I bought while Christmas shopping a couple of weeks ago. Did I really need to shop at the bookstore no, but I did good good buying myself gifts.

Caterina | 570 comments 2022 was a good reading year for me! I initially set a goal of finishing 100 books, and I ended up meeting that goal in August. By the end of the year, I finished 160 books and audiobooks.

I'm hoping to keep this momentum going in 2023!

message 16: by AurorainBookland (new)
