Elizabeth (Alaska) As I recall, when an author, especially a GR author, published with a middle initial, those books originally published *without* the initial can and should show the more complete name in primary position, which is another way of disambiguating authors with common names.

This instance
/author/show...
is what prompts this question. I think Robert Black can be removed from all of these editions that also have Robert A. Black.

If my thinking is confirmed, I'll go about the edits.

Oh, yes. Iain Banks and Iain M. Banks is the obvious counter argument. But in Banks case, I believe none of his books would include both representations.
