Allison To avoid a long story, I am looking for a book where the female lead is closed-off, tough, and brave while the male lead is outgoing but intelligent. A bit of enemies-to-lovers at the beginning is okay but ideally they should quickly bond on at least a friend level.

C.C. Sunny (ccsunny) | 1 comments I believe The Curse Of Wrath by C.C.Sunny would be right up your alley. It hits a lot of the points you like in a different way. Dark fantasy clean romance stand alone story.

Aniyue Miller | 9 comments Tara Grayce also has the elven alliance series. After the first couples book, there are some other wonderful pairings with more closed off female characters. *Very clean and a great series as a whole if you want something to sink your teeth into.
A cute stand alone book by Zoe Marriott is "Swan Kingdom". Definitely a little more what you are looking for in terms of hero and heroine. *Clean
Also try Mercedes Lackey "Phoenix and Ashes". Slight change on the male character, but still a good story. Does not have to be read as part of the series. *Pretty clean as I recall.
*I call kissing clean, but nothing else.

Radiance by Grace Draven is a wonderful story of friendship growing into something more. The female is brave, but not closed off. It is arraigned marriage and has some !steam!, so be aware.
!The couple does have sex!

PH0383 | 1 comments FLIRTATION OR FACE-OFF BY LEAH BRUNNER!
It’s the second in a sports romance trilogy that can be read as a standalone! And it’s dual pov!!
I loved it!! It pretty closely fits your description!

Alsoooo

ONE LAST PLAY BY ANNAH CONWELL
This is the last book in a standalone series but I just read as a standalone and it was good!! It’s dual pov with a single dad mmc and a teacher fmc!

Both of these are pretty fluffy and 5 stars for me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you want more recs comment🔥
