Take a look at it and let me know your thoughts.

I’m off to start gophering.
Any suggestions for a catchy name, teammates?

Looks great, thanks Jayme. I also have some time on my hands as well, as it is so cold and windy here.
As far as a catchy name was thinking about something to do with going back to the past. Perhaps, 'Back in Time', 'Turn back the Clock', 'Time Travellers'
A question about the books to read. Can they be new books that fit the categories or do they need to be ones that have been on my TBR list for some time.

Great ideas for a team name.
I really like "Time Travellers"

Time Trav3l3rs

Serial Killing
Jasmine Sea by Phillipa Nefri Clark - 2nd in series
Rain Dogs by Adrian McKinty - 5th in series
Zany Zodiac
Fire with Fire by Candice Fox
Surfacing by Margaret Atwood (Canada)

Very clever. I will change our name on the thread since it seems everyone likes the name.
If people want to start posting what tasks they could read, I can start plugging their names in the spread sheet for the task that way we can see which years it looks like we can complete for the extra bonus points.
Also, if you can write if your book could also fit another task that way we can move books around if we need to.

2014
The Winners - 671 pages - chunkster
If someone else has chunksters that connect, this book will also work for 2016 - 3rd in series
2015
Paper Cuts - 6th in series - could also fit 2017 - country of birth
Iron Lake or Cherry Pie or Die or Delilah Green Doesn't Care- 1st in series
Light of the Spirit - 4th in series
2022
Harlem Shuffle - set in New York
First Grave on the Right - published 2011
East Wind, Rain - author Paul - also works for 2022 direction in title and 2020 airplane on cover
Maybe?
I have a 6th book that I may be able to get to The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, 83¼ Years Old it can work for two places, so I will read it last to see where it needs to go
2021 - task 3 "secret" in title or 2018 - character over 60
but if you have books that can be read for those tasks, go for it since I may not get to this one.
2020
A Dangerous Business - set in California

Set on an island (2016) - The Only Survivors
Take Home Item: Bird (2016) - Other Birds
Published in 2019 (2021) - A Woman Is No Man

What do you all think?

If you read it for the chunkster, it can connect to my chunkster because they were both written in 2022 - that would work! What do you think?

Sounds good to me!

Surfacing - Paperback version 199 Pages
Fire with Fire - Paperback version 480 pages
Total 679 pages which meets criteria of 2 books of 500+ pages

Surfacing - Paperback version 199 Pages
Fire with Fire - ..."
Don't forget that they have to connect some way with one of the chunksters and with each other, so how do they connect?
update after looking at books :)
Surfacing can connect with The Winners because they are both contemporary fiction and Surfacing and Fire with Fire can connect because Fire with Fire is also contemporary fiction.

Sorry did not read Kristie's version carefully and is not going to work as there is no connection between the 2 books I chose. Still want to go for the Chunkster connection, so will substitue one of the books
Instead of Surfacing, I will read Atmosphere of Hope: Searching for Solutions to the Climate Crisis by Tim Flannery - 256 pages
The connection now between this book and Fire with Fire are that they are both written by Australian authors.
Hopefully that is me sorted now with
2 books in Chunksters and
2 books in series.

Plugged it in for nonfiction 2020

Let's plug it in for third in the series. I have a book that I can read for 4th in a series and then that year will be complete.

Sorry did not read Kristie's version carefully and is not going to work..."
Do you have the hardback or paper back version of Fire with Fire? The hardback is 517 pages. If you have the hardback you won't have to read the other one for chunkster.
Also, they would all connect because they are all contemporary fiction

Sounds good! Did not think of contemporary fiction
Our posts crossed, so will read Surfacing and Fire with Fire
Just had a look and my paperback/softcover copy has 448 pages

2022: Road Trip

Will put you in for those tasks and remove the other ones.

My copy of Fire with Fire has 448 pages. It is a large paperback. So near to 500 pages, however other book is short.

Got it!

I was thinking about different strategies to get the most points and I was wondering if we want to try and complete the year for the bonus points, or we can just read what we want and no stress?
We have years 2014 & 2015 filled. I'm going to look and see if I have other books that might help complete a year since I have some books in years that don't look like they will be filled.
Does that make sense?

Are you thinking about moving your books for the year 2022? I actually have 2 books that could help fill that year and then you wouldn't have to move them.

If someone has a book that would fit for published in 2011, I can move it because I have another book that would fit either author named Paul or directions in title.

I don’t think my 2 books are movable after checking.

Cool, I'll put you in for 6th in series. I have a book that can fit both "author named Paul" and "direction in title" for 2022, so if someone has a book for either of those I can easily flipflop my book. Which means we are one away from completing that year.
Casceil still needs to check in, so we'll see what tasks she can read and go from there.

So I can do Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith. Maybe replace my nonfiction book (Unthinkable: What the World's Most Extraordinary Brains Can Teach Us About Our Ownwith this one and I can see if I can find another book that can fit somewhere we need it?

North: Finding My Way While Running the Appalachian Trail

Great - I'll plug you in for that one with a question mark and we will see how it goes.
And what a fabulous sounding trip. The Northwest and Pacific coasts are so beautiful. Henry and I are heading out to Washington state the last two weeks of June to hike Olympic, North Cascade and Mt. Rainer National Parks.
Let the summer vacations begin!

Also, I've been in contact with Casceil and she's waiting to see where everyone is plugging in their books, and then will fill in the gaps. She will be our secret weapon!
My chunkster The Winners is waiting patiently for me to start reading it. I can't wait to get to the book. It's been on my TBR for way to long.

That book looks really interesting - just put it on my TBR. Henry and I are currently section hiking the Appalachian trail in Virginia and North Carolina. It will take us years to finish. I can't imagine running the trail!

I'm starting with Burnout (2022 headlights). It's short so it should be quick and easy.
