I read about 20 books a month, but sometimes more. My favorite genres are horror, thriller, fantasy, sci-fi, and nonfiction.
Wheel-A-Thon II bookshelf: 12-Wheel-A-Thon
Happy reading everyone.

I'm on Saskatchewan time which lines up with MST right now. I usually come on line around this time in the evening.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone :)

Mollie, this is my first Wheel-A-Thon. I heard it was a lot of fun. I just had to join.
It's great to meet you all. I was looking at our spreadsheet and saw a word, Shamrock.

Yes, your first word is Shamrock. If you look at page two on the spreadsheet, there is the list of all the possible spell it out words and the corresponding cover colour that you will get bonus points for (green for Shamrock).

I should be able to fit in 6-10 books for the first week. I plan on having these books finished on the 22nd.

We may start reading but may not finish the book before the challenge starts. I hope that helps.

Yep. Best strategy is to get a few books started now but put off finishing them until during the first week. You won't have this much prep time for the rest of the challenge.

I live in NW Ontario, Canada, CST and I generally get home from work around now and go online while dinner cooks. If I'm organized I'll check in mornings before work, but I have no access to internet while I'm at work, so I'm a twice a day kind of gal. ;) I know I have at least two green cover books on my to-read list that will work for letters C and S, not sure about character names. I don't think I'll have trouble finding any other letters either.
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all - Michelle, Mollie, Diane and Cheryl. Rachel and I just struggled through TT together so we are old war buddies. Are we a chatty or non-chatty group, anyone know? I'll probably be fairly chatty anyway. As you can tell by my rambling. Okay, chicken smells done, be back later.

Looking forward to getting great book recommendations from you all. I found a great series from Tower Teams that I might not have read otherwise. It's part of the reason why I love these team challenges.

I looked to see what we signed up as chatty or non-chatty. The majority of us signed up as "I don't care". I'm one of those "I don't care". There was a person that said they didn't want to be in a chatty group. So, we are semi-chatty?
You, know me Allison Ann I chat if others do but really don't if others don't. I can go either way.
Michelle what team were you on in the Tower Team challenge? Are you a thundercat? or Chickadee LOL

I was a Witch for the last TT. We were middle of the pack the entire game. And not too chatty, but I can go either way. I'll definitely be checking in daily to see how the reading is going!

I've noticed just from my books 'O' and 'K' are harder letters to find. I'll keep an eye out on characters that start with those letters.

I'm also due for another Kevin O'Brien book any day now, so that's good for a couple of Ks and Os. I'll swing by the library tomorrow and stock up.

Looks like we are on our way.

Example - Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West is one of the most boring books I have ever read in my life and by read I mean try to read and fall asleep on page 3. Repeatedly.

I will push forward and drop myself on that grenade. At least it's shorter and an extra 20 points if I make the random generate.

I think I was 20/21 the first time I read Outlander and I loved it too but it was the time travel and the history I particularly loved, the romance didn't really do much for me. I still like it though. I've read all the other books in the series and they are hit and miss for me, some boring, some interesting. I tend to skim the sex scenes and the war scenes as it feels like she just copy/pastes them. Kind of like Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series. Love the travel and medicine and personal interactions, skip the sex and fighting. :)

I say it's now a 2.5 rating book for me. It's in-between and okay and like.

I have begun 3 books. One is 631 pages, and I will finish that one. One is an 800 page book, but I am not positive I will finish it this week. I will try. Here is what I am reading:

I enjoy historical fiction too. I love learned about the time periods. I like history too, and will read a lot of non-fiction books. I'm not a Jane Austen fan. I have only read two of her books but there is that Jane Austen challenge here and I joined it. I love one of the books I read by her then the other book I read, I didn't like. I was annoyed and felt it was a lot of reading about nothing--well, gossip. So, to challenge myself I checked out a bio on her. It's about her life in the countryside and I'm loving it. The way it's written is like they picked a family to show what life was like for them. I had no idea that when women have their children they would sent their child off to be fostered until the child is potty trained and weened from the wet nurse. The parents still visit but someone else is raising the children. I was surprised. I never knew that happened during then. I understand that with royalty during that time but it was odd for even the middle and labor class to do so. That's how Jane was raised at the time. Anyway, I'm hoping after reading these bios I will reread the book and read her other books to see if my view changes.
Well, now that I'm totally off topic. I was wondering with one of your books listed,
Also, for The Red Tent, I found all what the letters were for S, A, R, K and I found M but I wasn't able to find H. Is it possible if you may also post what H is for so I may update that as well?
Thank you.

You got that the title on my book does not have "Essays from" and that the series is "The Collected Works of Hugh Nibley." (Thus the "A" and the "C."
In The Red Tent, Huna is the name of Rachel's mother and also there is a Herya and a Hamor.
