Hi. I'm book_drunkard on BC.
Sending you a friend request.

I haven’t been using BC since the COVID, I’d just sent off some book into the wow but I guess no one wanted to touch stuff like that. I know the hairdressers dumped their magazines and a couple of books I dropped off there.
I’m was on there as Cabu, I’m in Ireland.
Mostly I’m here in GR, I’m surrounded by a mountain of books of all kinds which I bought during lockdown. Running out of shelf space and floor space 😂 my iPad is now groaning under the weight of eBooks.
Books to me are boarding passes to other places, with no luggage to worry about, so I only read fiction. The recommendations from people from all parts of the world has broadened my reading range, in ways I would never have imagined. But that’s fun and escapism, and as long as a book engages me emotionally on any level that a Goodread for me.
I have been on both BC and GR for quite some time now, and have only just become aware of this group.
Luckily, I use the same name and picture on both sites, so that should save any potential confusion.
(In fact, I use the same handle on Ravelry and letterboxd as well, and am always up for new friends there. If you request me as a friend, please include your handle from BC so I know who you are.)
There's not much to tell about me that isn't already covered in my profiles on BC/GR but here it is anyway.
I am in NSW, Australia.
I read a lot of non-fiction - war, adventure, survival, etc. For fiction reads I prefer sci-fi.
I knit and crochet, which is a lot of fun.
I now have two young children, which is also fun but a huge time drain, and one of the reasons I have gone from 40-50 books a year to 4-6.
I am hoping to get some more GoodReads friends out of this group. Mainly so I can compare statistics and see if we hate the same books.
Happy reading all!
