I just read the Black Mage series by Rachel E. Carter and it was incredible!! It’s like the Cruel Prince in that they genuinely despise each other at first and even once they get closer, the banter and tension keeps going.
- booktok hasn’t gotten a hold of it yet (it was released a couple years back). Idk why though because the tension is unmatched yall everyone has to get on these books
- AMAZING world building. With the most UNIQUE approach to magic I have ever read. Full of exciting plot twists.
- sarcastic, powerful, witty prince with a fmc that isn’t a “chosen one�. She’s weak at first and has to work and claw her way up
- “I don’t want to love you but I do� type romance. Never holds back when he’s with her. Kinda tortures her at one point (hehehe🤭🤭 but it’s not what it seems guys it’ll make sense in context). Seriously this girl knows how to write ENEMIES.
- so exciting that I thought my heart would give out. Finished all 4 books in 4 days
- there is no spice in it yall but believe me when I say the intensity and tension made me chuck the book across the universe. More romantic and infuriating than any spice I’ve read
Guys it’s EVERYTHING we want if we’re looking for a real enemies to lovers fantasy book. If you like the Cruel Prince you’ll love this. The books get better as they go on and the writing gets more sophisticated. 10/10 and it’s underrated so we got to get it out there more🙏🙌
