Hi! So, here's a sample "Sundae Topping Review" of a book I reviewed a while back. I hope this helps and works as a good example to write your reviews.

How do you explain your thoughts about a book which took you through a whirlwind of emotions? Well, here's my attempt.
Keywords: HEA, steamy, hot rom-com, slow-burn, possessive hero, and strong heroine

I enjoyed every second of this book, I don't usually try historical romance from many authors except a few, because they have disappointed me in the past, but I am glad to have picked this one. The blurb was interesting enough and if you like it, be assured that you'll like the book too.
The story revolves around a fiercely determined Annabelle, who is a common lady, a daughter of a country vicar who doesn't want to stay with her cousin, help him raise his children and perform household duties, she wants to study and when a chance arises in the form of Oxford, she tricks and manipulates her cousin to let her go to pursue education, which he only allows for his ulterior motives. In exchange for the tuition fee, she has to support the suffrage movement where she meets other women from different walks of life and status.
She's driven and hardworking and despite her common status, is determined to not marry for convenience and become someone's mistress.
A chance encounter with Sebastian, Duke of Montgomery, turns her plans upside down and through a series of events, she gets stuck in his house.
Sebastian is a possessive, jealous hero, and though he is appalled to find a commoner like her in his house, he couldn't stay away from her. Being a Duke, he can't marry a common lady like her, as society dictates it so. He's burdened with responsibilities of his own and wants to preserve and take ownership of Castle Montgomery.
His relationship with his brother, Peregrin Deveraux is sweet and salty and I found it refreshing to see it develop along the story.

The conversations between suffragist women are interesting and humorous, another good thing about the book. Her friends help her when she needs it the most despite her unfortunate circumstances.

Some swoon-worthy quotes from the book:-
"He spun her round and she was pinned flush against the door, trapped between oak wood and one incensed aristocrat. Out of the two, the oak would yield more easily."

“Darling," he said, "I have only begun to love you.��

“A bittersweet pull made his chest contract. He supposed that was how it felt to miss someone.��

The only negative point about this book would be that it's historical fiction, yet the writing is more 21st century driven, but I thoroughly enjoyed the author's witty writing style, and this shouldn't make much of a difference to the satisfaction of readers.
The author did a good job at including quotes from famous personalities of history, such as Aristotle which made the process of reading more enjoyable.

From the very first page, I found myself completely engrossed in the delectable world of passionate love between Annabelle and Sebastian, their fierce determination to follow their hearts, and the witty dialogue that sparkled with every exchange, all combined to create an irresistible and immersive reading experience.
The book delivered a perfect 5/5 on the topping of passionate love, fierce determination, and a sweet and heartwarming love story altogether, leaving me craving for more!

I highly recommend "Bringing Down the Duke" to anyone who enjoys a compelling romance with strong and vibrant characters set against the backdrop of historical intrigue. This book is a delectable literary sundae that you won't be able to put down until the last page.
