Hi friends! This is your friendly neighborhood Thread Master here to clear up a few things about Buddy Read threads.
Our current system keeps the group folders uncluttered and useable so members can find out what BRs are ongoing or upcoming and easily navigate the group. There can sometimes be a bit of confusion so I thought I'd provide this little guide.

Here is the timeline for normal Buddy Reads:

1. Buddy read threads are requested by at least 2 members using the form, and show up on our master spreadsheet.

2. I create the discussion thread for the BR and it will be located in the Upcoming Buddy Reads folder. I add the book to the group bookshelf, and set its start date as requested, and the end date for 14 days later.

3. On the start date of the BR, the Bookself will automatically change the status of the BR to Currently Reading , and I will move the discussion thread from the Upcoming Buddy Reads discussion folder to Currently Reading .

4. After 14 days, the BR will be Archived on the bookshelf to make room for the newer BRs, but the thread remains in the Currently Reading discussion folder and is still open for discussions and posts.

5. After some time (~10-14 days) I will move the discussion thread from Currently Reading to the Archive [Retired Buddy Reads] folder. At this point, the thread can still be used to continue discussions.
