Review:
Gin should just not go on holiday. The poor thing. There's always something haha. Since I don't read the back cover anymore for this series, I never know what's awaiting me for each installment, so I'm discovering the plot as I go along but I also know that by the end of the book, Gin will have saved the day again. This time, they went to a Western theme park - not just on holiday, but with a little business mixed in but it should have been mostly a fun weekend with a tiny side of business. It was the other way around, of course!
I do have to admit though that I'm slowly beginning to think that the books are fillers. The plots are fun and the main story arc continues and it mostly all makes sense, but at the same time, at book #15, some things are stagnating a little. Since the series is finished and I'm just not caught up, I at least also know that an end is in sight and it won't be dragged out over another 15 books.
That being said, I do enjoy the adventures of Gin and her friends. :-)

I dropped that series for some reason very early on. I might return to it one day 'cuz it's one many of my friends read & enjoy. Glad you liked it.
Thanks for the stamp request. I'll get that done soon. Yay, teammies!
Hope that's a good one, too.

We now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'Free Space'.
[Our updated BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Woohoo!! :D

Never mind. That's been answered before I even asked!

Yep, the sign-up thread is in the Bingo folder, just after all the active team threads.
And yep, 200 is the page requirement, as you found out :)

It does, however, have every conceivable variation and misspelling of Romantasy!

That was my problem. I scrolled all the way to the end, assuming it would be down there, not taking in to account the unused threads. Isn't the way ŷ limits starting new threads lovely?

Hehe typical!
But wow, that is a LOT of copies!!

Category #4 ~ 8 Nov: Nat'l Savings Day
Requirement ~ Read a book you didn't buy: a freebie, a gift, a library or Kindle unlimited loaner
I’m gonna read

I may have missed it, but it appears that Iron Flame is not shelved/tagged Paranormal Romance on Amazon. And I don't think it would fit any of the other categories, so probably not there either.

So you can listen to it if you want to Laura.

So can I assume you're going with Iron Flame, Laura? Or are you going to stick with Sweetheart?

I'll have to go on the hunt :-)
Eta: Oh, I forgot secret santa!! I should have at least one of those books unread still :-D

I still have

Since they play in the same universe and characters cross between series (Rick being one mentioned in the synopsis) I don't want to accidentally spoiler myself.

I still have

It's book #8

Noted!"
I have the audio edition. So you can link it in your tracking:

I didn't even know there was a spin-off!
But it looks like, according to the published dates, put the first Soulwood book after Jane book 10. I usually do things like that following the pub dates. That way there are no spoilers!

Week 3 - Nat'l Boyfriend Day
Book: Payback in Death
Date Read: 11/9
Rating: 4 stars
How it fits: Roarke is one of my book boyfriends! And it's shelved Paranormal Romance by 1 person. Also tagged Sci Fi Romance by 3 people.
Review: The last few In Death books have been somewhat formulaic. But this one was a bit more original. Peabody didn't wear the pink cowboy boots even once. Though she still clumped. McNab didn't do much swaying in his baggies, but Feeney's suit was still brown. Just dung-colored, not sh*t brown. I thought I had the mystery figured out 75 pages before Eve did, but while I had the right person, it was for the wrong reasons/connections. The book opens with Roarke and Eve on holiday. That first, relaxed, chapter was lovely. The 2 of them all cozy and chill was nice. But I don't think they could survive like that for very long.
I really want Eve to get pregnant because I want an Eve/Roarke baby while Mavis is having babies. But I know Robb/Roberts has said that at that point the series will end. So I'm good with no babies yet.
There were some hints that the next book will take place around Thanksgiving. Roarke's family will come to town, and Sean has been promised, by Eve, a visit to Cop Central.

I love Gin! Looks like you're only 1 ahead of me there.

Hope y’all enjoy your reads! Glad yours fits, Laura. I’d thought of Secret Santa for you, too, Eldarwen. Hope you’re able to find something you got for free. Have you grabbed any of the freebies we share around SOS? If you can’t find anything, maybe check out

Re: Jane and Nell, I wasn’t entirely sure myself as I read them all as published, but here’s Faith’s reading order page and she notes starting Soulwood after JY9. Read order:

I do remember that Nell appears in JY before the Soulwood books start. It was like she was doing a crossover before we knew there was a new series.

I was actually searching in case it had an Urban Fantasy tag, but on a whim I also checked the romance ones.

But thanks! :-) Then I know when to insert the spin-off books. The short stories are mostly not on my radar since a lot of them are published in anthologies where the rest of the stories is of no interest to me. But now with that short story collection on the market... hehe

I had an old one bookmarked, but this one was newer and took some deep diving in Google. 😆
You're welcome, Eldarwen. Hopefully it helped a bit.
ETA: Finished my Wk4 shelf read; review to come later.

I've just realized that I don't remember this one at all. I'll need to re-read it when the new one comes out.
When I started Mercy Thompson, I never thought I might actually prefer the Charles/Anna books. But I love me some Alpha and Omega action! Charles and Anna really are relationship goals.
I think it might be because Charles and Anna always spend all of each of their books together. Mercy and Adam are usually separated for much of their books.

But thanks! :-) Then I know when to insert the spin-off books. The short stories are mostly not on my radar since a lot of th..."
It really does! It looks like each of the shorts can be found in multiple places, and that makes it more confusing!

I like both relationships :-) Completely different dynamics as well.

I really enjoyed all the info on Sherwood.

Coven of the Witch by Heather G. Harris
Series: The Other Witch #2
Shelf: Kindle Unlimited Loaner / Freebie ( )
Category #4: Nat'l Savings Day
Read: 10 Nov
Rating: ★★★★½
My Review:
‘A glimmer is the opposite of a trigger. A glimmer is a moment in your day that sparks a sense of joy and wellbeing.Coven of the Witch picks up Amber's story following the loss and troubles discovered in Hex of the Witch. She's on the hunt for a black witch.
The reason Bastion was hired to protect Amber has ended, but he's sticking with her to ensure her safety as she takes on this new challenge. Amber, who once hated Bastion, has now found comfort in his nearness, his thoughtfulness and protections. It's a good thing he's still around because danger has a way of finding Amber. The attacks are coming quickly now as she begins to investigate.
This was another great installment in Amber's series. There's loss, new friendships, a blooming romance, and great character growth. With Amber's mum having bound those who have answers, answers they want to share, but cannot, I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment (Familiar of the Witch @ 30 Nov) where I'm sure she'll find a way around their bindings and get those answers.

I remember learning a lot about Sherlock. But when the book description was focusing on Wulfe being missing, that didn't spark any recognition. Of course I remember learning about Sherlock! But my brain puts most of my Sherlock knowledge in the Charles & Anna book where we learn about Leah, Wild Sign. I totally forget that we learned much more about him in Soul Taken.

I really enjoyed all the info on Sherwood."
If Christie would just get out of the Mercy books, I would love Adam & Mercy just a little bit more. Christie sets my teeth on edge whenever she's around!

Week 4 - Nat'l Savings Day
Book: Iron Flame
Date Read: 11/14
Rating: 5 stars
How it fits: I got it from the library. And I have been assured that it is shelved Paranormal Romance by 3-ish people, on or around page 10 of tags. :)
Review: I must start with that ending! But I can't say anything that wouldn't be a spoiler! (view spoiler) . The book is full of dragons and Xaden and Violet, and it is wonderful! I need the next one right now!
ETA: It's actually now been shelved by 10 people and is on the 4th page of tags. :)
