R24: Team #11 ~ Page Flippers

I will read Fourth Wing
...."
I believe the hype. It was a very good book and I wish next was already published. A bit too much on the school setting for me, but think that may have been needed for where plot is heading.

Week 3 - Nat'l Book Boyfriend
Book: The Innocent Sleep by Seanan McGuire
R24 Shelf/Genre: (1) Urban Fantasy
How it fits: on goodreads shelves as "urban fantasy"
Book Boyfriend: Tybalt, King of Cats
Was able to save this favorite-series-release when came off library hold because not sure how much will be repeatibg story from boyfriend's POV and how much will be new story after glancing at the synopsis and beginning.

How can Scottish accent be so hard even written? :D This is a crazy book with some crazy characters, funny and entertaining, with references to previous book but you can read it on its own. I've really enjoyed it, although humor in books is not usually my cup of tea (some exceptions: Shelly Laurestons, which tells you a lot about my "sense of humor"). Funny, fast-paced, with a slight mystery part too. Don't look for a serious and deep book (although it talks about some hard issues coated with the paranormal world). I'll read the pending one in the series (middle, not really OCD about series order), and sad she has published only three.

I usually like books by this author (so happy she writes a lot). The setting in this case is sci-fi, but it's an adventure book like others set in current world. A lot of fight, trying to rescue the queen, killing aliens and going from enemies (one side) to lovers. I've enjoyed it a lot and really looking forward for the next book in the series (early 2024)

This is the last in the series for real. I've enjoyed a lot the last half part of the book, although not so much the first one, as I'm not a fan of angst and conflicts because people don't talk. Anyway, it's a very fast book, with quite a lot of action (more in the last part too). Overall, sorry to say bay to Cambio Springs.

Review: Blown away! I'm usually not into books taking a different character's POV of same timeline, but this is definitely the exception. Yes, it's basically same beginning and ending of previous book, but in between is all new material. And it's Tybault. And lots more about the cats and their courts; and the undersea and all the other fae that Titania locked away from her attempt yo rework the reality. And we saw so much more of Tybault as the king he is and was rather than just Toby's lover and new husband. This was the book in the series that I needed without ever knowing I needed it. Plenty of surprises. The included short story on Helmi was a nice bonus even if turned out centered more on Diandra.

Where do I start? If you are sitting on the fence about reading this book, take the plunge you wont regret it. This story is solid. Awesome writing and plot, twists and turns. I normally dont read fantasy but this I was able to follow quite nicely. The last 20% of the book flies by. Cant wait to start the sequel. definte Cliffhanger of an ending. Book boyfriend sifted a couple times through out the story. Xaden, Dain, Liam. I loved the baddies and the world of the dragons, gryffins and xenin. in the sequel I am sure more will be answered.

I've enjoyed thoroughly this book, I've cried with Medusa and i've looked at goddess in other way. It's fast-paced, you find a lot of mythos and funny moments. And you find sad moments too. You want to keep on reading to know what happens next. In summary, I've enjoyed A LOT the book and probably won't look at statues the same way from now :D Sadly, this is the last book in the series for now, I hope she writes more books.

Ok holy what the blerb, blerb, did I just listen to. I will preface this with I got sick on Thursday and have been battling a cold for the past couple of days. I know I had a fever for 2 days but this book worked for me. I think it was Diana Gabaldon that said its like Harry Potter for adults.
I love British humor and this was just great with all its quirky humor and bad puns. At times i thought I was in Neil Gaimens world and other times a British 3 stooges comedy. It was unique and kept me entertained between sneezing and coughing.
i like that it was a mix of history, magic, urban fantasy. I am sure when I am not full of meds. I will read it again but i will definitely jump this series up the list. i think my favorite part is that the city of London is a character in the story. It just comes alive.

Review: Series is back on track. Everything and everyone progresses. I didn't care for previous book as much; seemed more like a way for author to write-off her vacation as research. But in this one, back to the story and the familiar characters. The big bad from Clive's past is back and Sam is back to being badass.. No cliffhanger, but clearly more follows.

Review:
My friend a couple years ago said I should read this series and I kept putting it off. I found the audio version and settled in for an entertaining read. I was not expecting so much humor that was to my liking. This was cheeky, easy to read. There are two stories in this book. Christmas Pride & Shaw's Tail. i really really loved Mace but his love interest Dez fell flat for me - just too bitchy for my liking. Brendan and Ronnie in Shaw's Tail I felt werent as strong as characters but were still likeable - a lion shifter and a wolf shifter.
I have read many shifter stories and what I felt was missing in both stories was more of the shifting sections. I also didnt like the constant switiching of the POVs.
But for humor this is a solid win for me.

I don't know, the action is very intense, the story is not wrong, but the book feels flat for me. The male MC's motivations are insane, his physical evolution more insane... and so many coincidences... Not bad as the story between them has some nice moments, the parallel story sounds good for me... but it doesn't motivate me to read more in the series.

I will read Fourth Wing for Nat'l Boyfriend Day
It is shelved 75 times as PNR.
Need to read for a BR in another group and i want to see what all the hype is about. I have read this author and I do enjoy her writing but this is her first time writing fantasy about dragons.
