Maylanie Bosgieter (maylanie-bosgieter) | 221 comments There are many records of Moby Dick incorrectly connected to Daniel Dofoe and the should be moved to Herman Melville

The same goes for this one The Adventures Of Tom Swayer should be moved from Kenneth Grahame to Mark Twain

Tami (tamicarvallo) | 6776 comments You are a librarian, you can edit the books and put the correct name in the author field. Also separate if necessary.

I started with the Moby Dick but I wasn’t sure if there was a faster way of doing it than going in to each one.

Tami (tamicarvallo) | 6776 comments You can move them to a different profile using the disambiguation tool and then merge that profile into the target profile.

Maylanie Bosgieter (maylanie-bosgieter) | 221 comments I’m not quite sure how to do that which so many of them. I’m still a fairly new librarian.

In theory that is a good solution.
However, the disambiguation page is limited to 100 pages. For Daniel Defoe, except for the first few, they are all taken up by editions of Robinson Crusoe.

I went to the combine page of Daniel Defoe, filtered for Moby and corrected all the single editions that were shown there.

There were two sets of combined editions. For those, I went to the All editions page, made sure the details were expanded (top of the page) so the author name was visible, and used Ctrl-F to search for Defoe. (For the main combined editions of Moby Dick, with the number of editions per page set to 100, there were still 126 pages to go through, so that's still quite a task to go through those.)

I think there are now no editions left of Moby Dick on the Daniel Defoe profile.

I think I found and moved all those.
