"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
Matthew 18:20 NKJ

Heather | 77 comments I have some family members that are struggling in their marriages, others that don't know Him, and some who know Him but are running away. There have been some major shifts that have changed our family dynamics and traditions, it's heartbreaking. Even in the midst of heartache, I can see one person in particular growing, getting closer to God, and healing (physically, emotionally, and spiritually), which I have been praying about for some time. Please pray that God uses them to bring the other back to Him and back home where they belong. I don't want to go into detail in case they see this. Can this be seen outside of the group? I unclicked add to my update feed, I hope this is private.

Kim Kastner | 247 comments 2023 has been an interesting year.I had bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction for breast cancer diagnosed in late 2022. But God has been so good! Despite issues with wound healing needing a few extra procedures, it was caught early enough to not need chemo or radiation. It’s provided an opportunity to share how God has been with me along the way with others. Looking forward to a calmer 2024 without all the tests & surgeries!

message 7: by Lauri (new)

Lauri Gentry | 419 comments This year we have had one of the most memorable Christmas mornings (and not in a good way). My 12 year old grandson was found on the floor of his room when my son went to wake him for Christmas festivities. He would not wake up at first, then started to shake as having a seizure. Paramedics were called and he was taken away to the hospital. My praise in all this is that through all the testing he has gone through nothing abnormal was found. He returned home after a 3 night hospital stay and is almost back to his normal self.

Praying. May God be with all involved in these situations.

Heather, anything posted on GR is possible to be seen by friends or friends of friends, in their home feed. I have found that unclicking the "add to my update feed" button is spotty at best, as GR has lots of bugs they don't typically fix well, unfortunately. However, how you worded everything is very respectful and keeps your loved ones' identities protected. I hope and pray for those you mentioned to grow ever closer to our Lord Jesus.

Dave, I'm so sorry for the incident and the fallout from it. Praying for those survivors and the family of the one who died.

Kim, I'm so happy you didn't need chemo or radiation! That's fantastic. Hopefully the new year will bring full healing for you.

Wowzers! Lauri, how terrifying! But I'm so glad he's okay now. Hopefully he continues to heal from whatever it was.

message 11: by Beth (new)

Beth (canadianbeth) | 247 comments We have much to be thankful for, even in the midst of problems.
My husband and I are seniors in our 80s, and of course with that comes the usual difficulties. He is having cognitive problems, forgetting a lot and mine are physical. We decided it was time to look for a care facility, so in mid-June applied to a place called Silvera for Seniors which has several different facilities for different needs. We were told that the waiting lists were very long so just mailed it and waited. Within a month we had an interview for our present place, our home was listed for sale and sold the next day. We moved in August 2nd. God answered our prayers much quicker than we had ever expected.

Wow, Beth, that's amazing!

Have you done any research on coconut oil (MCT)? I've recently learned it has benefits for cognitive issues and am trying it for my post-Covid memory problems. I haven't been on it long enough yet to see significant improvement, but I'm hopeful, because I keep hearing of successes in folks with dementia and Alzheimer's.

I totally understand as my husband and I live at a senior independent facility due to his disabilities with his back and my health isues. Praying you enjoy every minute there as we feel like we have one big family where we live.

Loraine (librarydiva) | 4420 comments Prayers please as I have been having stomach issues since the week before Christmas. I have been through numerous testing and lots of possibilities have been ruled out which is a praise. But they still haven't been able to determine what the problem is. I still need 2 more tests but they can't get me in for those until March 20. I am on a waiting list. Thanks for all prayers.

Loraine (librarydiva) | 4420 comments Still waiting on the last two tests. The pain is somewhat better due to changes I have made in my diet. I have lost 9 pounds which the doctor is concerned about as I am below the weight they want me to keep. Still exercising and walking though.

Welcome back, Kate! Take all the time you need. Sarita gave you a couple of choices in HG, but I chose for her in case you’re not up for it (but if you are, go for it). We thought you might like to have options for reading while you recover. Hugs!

message 31: by Jerry (new)

Jerry (Rebel With a Massive Media Library) (ithinkdifferent) | 1 comments Please pray that either my mom or I will find a missing library item!

For those who don’t know, I work at my local ‘berry, and my mom has been asking me to get books from the “Cat Who… cozy mystery series on audio. The library system I work for used to have several such audiobooks in their catalog…but they did a purge of that section, which eliminated all but one volume of that series. So, I’ve been getting them for her through the Internet-library loan program, and it was going well…until we lost one recently. My mom thinks that I have it, but I don’t remember her giving it to me, and I looked all around my computer desk, which is where my parents put whatever they have for me when I’m not home, and it’s not there. I’m pretty sure it’s in her sewing room, but where exactly it is in that room is anyone’s guess. I just hope that one of us finds it, and soon…because I don’t want either of us to have to shell out money for a lost audiobook.

message 32: by Missy (new)

Missy | 912 comments Requesting a few prayers. My friend (her mom was my babysitter from the time I was born) is in her last days. She previously had breast cancer, it has come back and is all over. She is currently in the hospital on oxygen and declining. Will know more tonight when I talk to her daughter. Some days she is good and knows where she is going and ready, other days she is fearful and doesn't want to die. I've told her it really isn't up to us, that if we had our wishes she would never die, but it isn't. She did not have a very good relationship with her parents, and I think maybe that is her fear because she is really religious. Since I also do not have a good relationship with my dad, or my mom before she passed, I told her I choose to believe the problems we had here on Earth stay, that when we cross over to heaven all those problems are forgotten and they are there waiting to welcome us. I don't know if that is helpful to her, she is not communicating very well the last couple of weeks. But if you could all put in a small little prayer for my friend, Diana, it would be appreciated.

I have dearly loved being a part of this group, knowing that I will be lifted up in prayer if the need arises. I ask again for your prayers for God's peace to be upon me, my husband, and our son. I was diagnosed with cancer back in April and will be having surgery on 19 July. Hopefully the surgery will be all the treatment necessary and I can work on moving forward into a cancer-less future from then on!
Sure do love y'all! 🤗💖

Karen | 1185 comments I have a prayer request.

We are currently on a RV trip in New Hampshire (about 2500 miles from home). During a hiking outing my husband fell and fractured his ankle. He's had surgery and his post-op follow-up is this coming week. Additionally my brother-in-law is flying up to drive us, our camping kitty, and our motorhome back to the midwest to visit my husband's family and have his next ortho follow-up. Please pray for my husband's recovery and our travels home.
