Sam discovers she’s pregnant only to have a miscarriage after a rough takedown of Mitchell Sanborn who punched her in the abdomen. Your thoughts about this aspect of the story?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1191 comments Heartbroken.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2911 comments Agree, Charlene. Heartbroken. But, at her doctor pointed out, she can get pregnant.

Robin (robinmy) | 2413 comments It was sad that she lost the baby; but I had a hard time believing she would just carry on with her job while doing so.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1763 comments This was very sad. She and Nick want a baby so much.

It will be interesting to see if Force eventually takes them down this road as she has kept the option open.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3396 comments The miscarriage was sad. I felt terrible for both Sam and Nick.

My problem with the situation was that Sam continued with her job. That isn't normal. Anyone who has a miscarriage knows that. Also, Sam's job is so physical there is no way that she could continue. I'm not sure it is even possible. I didn't care for that part of the story at all.

I agree, Sharon.
This was not realistic. I've been watching the British show "Call the Midwife", which is very true to life and it is clear that having a miscarriage takes a physical toll. It is unlikely that a woman would just carry on regardless.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2911 comments I agree, Sharon. Sam put her job above her health and her pregnancy. I get she has a compulsive commitment to her job, but it almost seems she has no faith in her partners and has to do it all herself. Just one of the reasons I'm not a Sam fan.

Agree completely that Sam going back to work was unrealistic. Women who have miscarriages experience something close to having the child. Their bodies go through a physical toll that typically takes at least a week of recovery, let alone the emotional weight. I wish Force had handled this differently.
