No. If they marry, it won't last long. Besides, I don't think they love each other. She uses Lucas for information, and he uses her body.

I do not think he could trust her, Girl Scout's honor nothwithstanding.
I do remember that, fairly late in the story, he thought that he was (surprisinginly) in love. The question is with her, or with the coming baby?
She does know that he is a hopelessly unfaithful type with women, so perhaps she ought not to marry him. However, in 1988, it might have been difficult if she shared his Catholic faith to turn marriage down. He tells her he does not want his child to be a "bastard."

I dislike cheating - didn't help me that I read this and then went right into listening to Blindsighted - with another cheater. Both of these are 'old' books. They are very realistic to the timeframe they were written in.
Jennifer - I think the Girl Scouts honor thing was crap. Liars gonna lie whenever its convenient to/for them. Just like cheaters gonna cheat when its convenient for them.

I agree. Jennifer wants to make a name for herself and she will lie to anyone, including Lucas to get a scoop.
Regarding the toothbrush, she is the only woman who has one at his house. She knows he isn't faithful regardless. It wouldn't surprise me if she cheats to get a story too. You're right they deserve each other.
