1. The Radcliffe Ladies� Reading Club by Julia Bryan Thomas -3.5
2. Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel -5
3. Olive, Again by Elizabeth Strout -4
4. The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose -3, (I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed in this one compared to the first)
5. Blind Goddess by Anne Holt -4, translated mystery - first in a series
6. The Apology and the Last Days: A Novel by Borislav Pekić. -4, translated
7. The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife Vol. 1 by Iwatobineko -4, translated graphic novel, had to read back to front, right to left
8. Don't Ask Me Where I'm From by Jennifer De Leon -4
9. Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll -4
10. Garden by the Sea by Mercè Rodoreda -5, translated
11. No Refuge by Nicola Clifford -3, (mystery set in Wales-first in a series)
12. Abigail by Magda Szabó -5.5 translated
13. My Monticello by Jocelyn Nicole Johnson -5
14. West Heart Kill by Dann McDorman, 5, (mystery-unique premise)
15. Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi -5
16. The Mule-Bone by Zora Neale Hurston, read, not rated, (play written with Langston Hughes, that destroyed their friendship)
17. Hotel du Lac by Anita Brookner -5.5

Ann (annrumsey) | 16673 comments What a good looking month Gail! I also read two of yours. Sea of Tranquility, also loved it and The Mystery Guest, I liked it more than you did but agree the first book was fresher.
Several others look tempting, great start to your year. Abigail is on my tbr list now.

I was intrigued by your note about The Mule-Bone. Will have to look this one up.

LOL. I think it was a record for me as well! I took advantage of the time between my crazy-busy travelling Christmas holiday and the lull in the start of tax season and just chilled. My house got a bit dusty, but no one was invited to visit anyway...
