Fortune's Christmas Baby

Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard
Genre: Celebrity Memoir
Finished: 11/2/24
The Little One
The MC is not a criminal but she's not a nice person for most of the book.
Read: 15/2/24
10/2: I read the final 203/239 pages of Crying in H Mart, which features not only H Mart itself but many restaurants, including ones where the author worked.
Finished: 10/2/24
A Very Distant Shore
A friendship on a Scottish island between two lonely people
Read: 15/2/24
Today Will Be Different
The MC plans a different day which turns out to be different from routine in an unexpected way. I'd never heard of the New Orleans Krewes before this Readathon, but this book featured them.
Read: 14/2/24
I read the final 100/403 pages of Unruly: A History of England's Kings and Queens. Quite a few family conflicts taking place in the period between Roman Britain and the Tudors, involving parents and children, siblings, spouses, and especially cousins. The biggies were the C11th dispute between cousins Stephen and Matilda as to who got the crown, which led to the period known as The Anarchy, and the C15th Wars of the Roses, also between cousins arguing over the crown, which led directly or indirectly to the deaths of over 100, 000 people. Puts the current tiff between WillnKate and HarrynMeg in perspective. The book itself is informative, astute, and often very funny (despite its subject matter).
