I liked this one but I really wanted to love it. It had lots of good reviews and I can see how it could be called “heartwarming, but I found that it was just not a complex enough story for me, and it skimmed the surface rather than going into depth, which wasn’t what I wanted. The book tells of how a friendship develops between Aleisha, a seventeen-year-old working at the library as a summer job, and recent widower Mukesh, whose wife had a love of reading. There was a big twist that I didn’t see coming, but the ending was very predictable and I didn’t like how the main characters saw the characters from the books they were reading appear in their own lives.
